So awesome. I remember when I was a kid and my folks got us a Power Wheels Safari Jeep for Christmas. It had the jerry cans and a little camo canopy. I remember my younger brother running up to it and breaking the antenna off. Once the batteries failed like they normally do my dad wired up a car battery in it and put a bungee to hold it in. We had that thing for years.

Summer wheeling in MT is finally here and did not disappoint. A total of 8 jeeps went. I will let the pics do the talking.
Airing down

This one is my favorite I aired down to 5psi for this run and if you look closely at my drivers front tire it is completely rolled over under my rim. Amazing I didn't pop a bead.

Jeep parking lot convention

She'll be coming around the mountain

Made a stop at the ringing rocks, if you hit the rocks with a hammer they will ring. cool huh?

Airing back up.

There is lots to see here from Yellowstone to Glacier to old mining ghost towns to some beautiful lakes, the scenery is not disappointing.
That's if stuipid kids don't stop starting fires in the woods just for fun.

Went camping over the weekend. We spent most of our time riding dirt bikes, but I did get to stretch the jeeps legs back at camp.

Then my oldest boy decided to try and make it across the creek on his dirt bike.

Then I did it in two 2 wheel drive with the jeep. The first pass we didn't record but my stepdad said I threw all the mud out of the hole. lol
Click on pic its a video\/\/\/\/\/.

Did I mention how much I hate mud.

Then I let my wife drive it home while I pulled the camper back.

Motor developed a knock over the weekend. It comes in at about 1800 rpm and goes away at 2000 its super annoying!!! Loud enough to be heard over the stereo.
I posted in another thread where a guy was having the same problem. I may start my own thread if I cannot get it figured out.
Anybody have any ideas or suggestions your welcome to throw them out there.
I'm thinking its a timing issue and I need to retard my spark?? running too lean??

Been so busy getting my house ready to sell haven't had any energy to work on the jeep. My gas can mount has started to get surface rust, I need to finish that darn thing. I spent an hour hosing all that damn mud from every nook and cranny.

Can't have an update without a pic right? Saturday with my oldest boy huntin with my very first .22 Proud dad right here!!

Well ever since the motor problems I have been seriously thinking about building a 4.6 stroker. Thoughts suggestions concerns? I have a complete 4.0 and complete 4.2 sitting in my garage they both need rebuilt. Infact all the 4.2 needs is rings and seals to be a runner, but I don't want to just go back to stock.

This will be a somewhat poor man's stroker with using as many used parts as I can.

Does anybody have experience in building a stroker? I could really use the help since I don't know much about what CR and quench height to go with, or how to acheive the perfect combo. It seems to be a lot of mixed reviews, and so many threads with completely different opinions. I still want to be able to run 87 octane or lower. My head hurts just from reading this morning.

My buddy really wants me to do a sbc, but I never really liked riding on the bandwagon anyways.

My buddy built, I think, is a 4.7 stroker. 300hp and 400ft lbs. He had a shop put together the long block and I think that was $1500. He runs it in an xj using the stock injectors and the stock tune. Runs on pump gas, never detonates. He has had it in there for a couple years. This is what I will be doing when I get to that point of my build.

I can get more and more accurate stats from him, if you would like.

It would be nice to know what pistons he used and what machining was done to the head/block. Im going to do the poor mans stroker. I will probably get web *****slapped by jsawduste for sayin that but want can I say I'm cheap. I got almost all the parts to do it just need the machining work done.
