Got the jeep prepped and ready for paint.

Plastic primer. It just looks like clear coat.

Most of it is assembled, we robbed the winch off of the power wheelz four wheeler. It will look sweet mounted up to the jeep. We plan to paint the undercarriage black too.

It's needs an alignment real bad, I've been going to drop it off at Les Schwab and get the whole front end looked over I hear their experts on these short of things.

For the black I used krylon fusion a paint that is designed to work on plastic. For the blue I used a plastic primer that is designed to be shot on then any paint can be applied over it. We shall see if it holds up.

If you are SOA, you might consider a TRE flip. That would allow you to run a stock pitman arm instead of the dreaded drop arm. A dash mounted winch control would be helpful in those hairy, off camber situations.

Love the color!

PS, that fusion paint is good for restoring fridge handles too.

That funny you mention the fridge handles I bought appliance paint to to paint my fridge black and thought the fusion paint would work good on the handles. Thanks!

Oh yeah and I am for sure doing the tre flip, it will keep the tie rod up outa the way. ha ha. I need to upload photos from when we first got that jeep my boys have used and abused it and it keeps kicking, it ain't no mall crawler.

Nothing like the night before a wheeling trip to make a jerry can mount.

Then nothing like a burn from some slag that fell into your glove while you are laying the perfect bead. lol

Back in the 90's I went all out nuts on a CJ5 style power wheels for my oldest boy. I ran a body shop, so thing was all prepped out and was even painted in base coat / clear coat auto paint!

Got any pics?
My older boys did a good job refurbishing this for their younger brother. I will post up pics his birthday is tomorrow. I got a new battery today for it and it rips like it did when it was new. Plus we robbed the winch off the power wheels four wheeler to use on the front.

I only have this one photo, I think... The kids loved it! I even had the decals made for the hood.
