Give you a chance to play with that super cool CB. Those type of items belong in CJs!

Funny you should mention that, that's exactly what I plan to do today. That and finish welding up the rear seat mounts.

Got the new cb mounted up. Although I may move it to inside the ammo can console. It will work here for now.

forumrunner_20130413_194128.jpg

Then I finished welding up the floor mounts for the rear seat.

In between waiting for paint to dry, I worked on my mount for a jerry can to mount to my swing away.

Very cool build man! Your M38 grille swap looks killer. I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel on mine.

I think the shorter hood is going to be cool. It is a lot lighter to flip up than the YJ hood haha.

It's a lot of work though, shrinking the nose. I am having trouble getting time away from work this week to get it going. I did use a volt meter to identify the wires for the lights, and get a relay from Napa to power the headlights with.

Also I went full bling and bought pre-72 bullet style turn signals from Omix-Ada. I went with the clear lenses, with orange bulbs inside. They are mounted to the grille now.

I am hoping to have it drivable with working lights by the end of the weekend. I am leaving for the Tennessee Jeepers Jamboree Wednesday morning! Nothing like a little pressure.

Also to muddy the waters, repro CJ5 fenders are supposed to arrive today. I don't see how I can prep and paint them before the trip really. I'll probably run my current cutoff wheel fenders for now.

Skyj, I just subscribed. I really like the seat and plan to use your ideas to do the same. I think you should really finish the fold and tumble feature so I can copy it!

Thanks man!! the fold and tumble will be really easy there is a lever on the back of the seat that folds it then, the footies at the back will be quick release, then it will just tumble forward out of the way.

Brown Santa dropped off my compressor. I used this exact one on the trail a month ago and I really liked it and how fast it aired up my tires.

Well haven't done much to the jeep lately, been busy with home improvement projects. Last week my wife and I found a home we want to buy, so we have been doing little things to get our house ready to sell. The downside is the new place has a smaller garage, but if we play are cards right with selling our home I should have enough left over to build a shop. I just want to get out and wheel its killin me.

Then a fresh coat of paint, with some krylon fusion plastic paint.

The rest the jeep will get a blue metallic.

forumrunner_20130504_213316.jpg

I had to buy a special "plastic" primer so this paint would adhere to it. I can't wait to see the outcome, my boys plan to suprise there youngest brother with this for his 2yr old birthday next weekend. He is gonna flip he loves jeeps.
