Removable mud flaps

Well here are a few pics of what all I had to replace on the AC compressor.

This is what got screwed up when the fan hit one of the hoses. good thing they were able to just weld a bead over it cause it didn't go all the way through.

Well as I said I needed to make mud flaps to get my jeep to pass inspection so here they are. First I bought a three foot steel tube 1/2 inch dia(max possible to fit in shackle box, cut it in half and painted it black. (FYI this can be done easily if you have shackle relocation brackets) (and so you know the flaps do say dodge but they were basically free and will only be on during inspection and when I have to have them so I don't much care)

Then I measured for positioning and drilled three holes to mount the tube and the flap

Then I mounted the flap to the tube using bolts with lock nuts and washers to prevent it from tearing off.

after that i did a test fit so see where they needed to fit. after putting them in the shackle relocation bracket (I used the farthest front hole) I marked the location to drill the holes for the trailer clip pens to hold them in place.

after putting them on I marked how I wanted them to look and trimmed them with a razor knife.

I sprayed them again to make the hardware black and cover up where i scraped the paint off.
Here is a view of them on. you can see the on trailer pin and there is another on on the other side of the bracket to keep it in place. all you have to do is remove the inner pin and bam, they are off.

Here are some views with and without so you can see coverage.

Sorry the sideways pics.

Let me know what ya think.(besides it saying dodge, I might try to cut the letters off) And yes I took them off after these pics.
