Yesterday.. finished blasting the rear armor/fenders and the front bumper, then a couple coats of por15 were put on while the parts were hanging on the wood frame. Scuffed the new CJ tailgate and por15'd it. Today a couple coats of rustoleum semi-gloss black were sprayed on it all (hplv). I also picked up a shutz gun today, planning to spray monstaliner on the outsides once everything cures.

Did some reassembly and disassembly - put in the intermediate shaft and the steering column.. took the column back out to put the indicator light cluster above it, put it back in... took it back out to put the dashboard in. Then i started trying to sort out and connect the mess of plastic clips that don't seem to match anything else. Bolted in the master cylinder and clutch cylinder.. those went a little easier. I also de-torxified the spreader bars with a couple 7/16 fine thread hex bolts (and painted over the grinder gouges from where I modified the first one to remove it with a pipe wrench - I got the right torx bit for the second). The bottles I ordered to go with the shutz sprayer showed up so when I get back from vacation I can spray the armor, fenders, and bumper with monstaliner.

Those fenders look great, I might go with something similar since Maine has laws like that about tires sticking out too far . You've done some great work on this Jeep, makes my project look like cake lol. Keep up the good work.

I feel your pain on that, seems like getting it on the road takes forever.

Yea, traveling 7 out of the last 8 months (working out of town/state, home on odd weekends) has a way of sucking time away from everything you want to do. Now that I'm back on local work it's like I'm still out of town because I'm still trying to get caught up on what I couldn't do over the winter.. girlfriend is getting jealous of the jeep.

ugh!!

When's that monstaliner going on? I think I'm going to scrape the hurculiner out of my tub and re-do it with monsta...someday... does that have to be sprayed or can you roll it?

I'm planning to spray the monsta on the bits I just painted after I get home from Hilton Head next weekend. You can roll or spray, I rolled the inside of the tub.. It's a few pages back in this thread. I'm only spraying these parts because of all the not-flat areas on them would make it a challenge to get a consistent texture.

Employment situation is about to change for the better (next week).. The traveling for months on end is about to stop, I'll be home. My Fiance (that's something new too) will get to see me more than once every one or two weeks. I'll be able to move into a new place closer to my new job, and I'll also be making more. I don't probably need to explain that I'll have time to finish the jeep as well.

Still need to order the cj tailgate latches, cables, seal, and brackets.
The fenders and armor havn't moved since the day I monstalined them.. so they need put on (holes for lights will need cut into the tub),
dash needs hooked up,
brake lines need run,
the engine wiring needs reattached,
I need a battery,
need to modify the filler tubes to work with the TJ filler,
seats need put back in,
shifter knobs and the tin/boots that go with them need put back on,
the headlights need replaced/installed,
the front turn signal holes need opened to accommodate the LEDs,
the lights need put into the front bumper,
the paint at the bumper mounts needs finished - never finished it after welding the plates on,
the soft top needs put on,
gotta find some good 33's (might just go for 35's if 33's look tiny once the fenders are on)

That list is sure to grow, but now I'll stand a chance of getting it done.

Yea, I understand about the 'done' thing... I pretty much meant having it on the road and driving - done with this tear-down.
