:P looks good. In one of those pics it looks like you used rtv between the transfer case and transmission. I was under the assumption that nothing goes in there, so if either of the seals leak it will seep out the bottom so it doesnt fill up the cavity.
Then again I think I only read that somewhere. when I pulled mine a few weeks ago there was nothing inbetween

It was in there when I took mine apart.. not that it looked like it had been done properly by the p.o. but i didnt think it would hurt.

So what did you end up doing about the fender skins? That price seemed a bit ridiculous.

Waiting to hear back from the shop when the material is ready. I'm not sure on the price, might have been able to get better from a steel supplier but time doesnt give me the ability to be picky. Then they're cutting the pieces for the rear fenders in that price as well, so I'm guessing that's about half the cost in itself.

Finally got a few minutes to work on the jeep. I tried putting on the rollbar padding - no hole in the main loop padding for the windshield bars. Gonna have to do some surgery after I disconnect the windshield bars to poke the stubs through... not too crushing but Rampage probably coulda accounted for it in the design.

Tonight I cut the sheet metal for the front and rear tube fenders. I started with the passenger side front, got it tacked, then ran out of wire halfway through.

That does take a lot of wire when you are doing the whole seam. Aren't you glad you didn't pay someone to cut that for you?

It didn't take as long to cut with angle grinders and thin wheels as I thought it would. Part of the reason for that was a friend came by and picked up a grinder for a bit. I was looking into having the shop cut it as a time saving measure so I could just tack and weld, without so much prep.

I was concerned about the wire running down last August when I was doing the tub work and helping with outboarding some scrambler mounts, just forgot to get another spool until it was too late... In anycase, the $123 has been spent today on another 44# spool, a new insulator, and two new nozzles for the next time I get a chance to do some work on em.

Today I picked up a couple potential (inert) shift knobs.. shouldn't take much effort to attach them...

Finished most of the welding on my front fender sheet metal, started on the rears. Still have to fill where I made a notch for one of the tubes and ended up not needing it, then some cleanup with a flap wheel, blast, and paint.

Finally got some time to finish putting skins on the rear fenders... Wasn't originally planning to grind them so much, but with them being fully welded I suppose it won't hurt the overall strength so much and will look better in the long run. Now to take care of some details on the fronts, grind them to match, blast, and paint.. maybe next week.
