Thanks for the info guys, looks like ill be hunting down a new pump and and bracket. As for progress I'm fighting the slow down. I really just want to truck along and get this motor in but Im in need of some parts to continue. I found a bellhousing, flywheel and clutch tonight but Id have to pull the parts myself. Im not in the mood to pull them, so ill continue to hunt for now.

I have pretty much decided on the Novak motor mounts. They just seem to appeal to me for some reason.. They have a better description and more information then AA. If anyone has experience with either or please share. Im going to order them on monday.

Kinda thought this pic was cool. Smoothing out the welds from the old mounts.

I'm going to go with the Novak mounts. I've read on here several places where people that used the AA mounts eventually broke.

Good stuff, im pretty much sold on them also. I dont want to discredit AA at all but the Novak ones just seem to be the ones for me.

Well I ordered my Novak mounts today! Shipping was a bit ridiculous $20 for a 14lb package but IDK if thats high. I even called to see if they would shoot me a coupon code and they said they were thinking about allowing JF members a code but didn't have one as of now. Pretty excited!

Heres a quick link to them if your looking for em. http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/e...ts/mmx-wd1.htm

Ok so I have began to make a parts list that I thought i'd share for all you guys thinking about converting to the dark side. Just remember my engine came complete with power steering, alternator ect... I did include a few but not all so feel free to throw out suggestions and or things to add in and ill update it as I go. I also threw out the price iv paid for the parts I have so far for a general idea. Another thing to consider is my jeep was carbureted so I have to get the parts for that also.

Jeep YJ V8 Swap Parts list

+ -Dodge V8 5.9 360 $380
+ -ECU
+ -Wiring harness
+ -Novak Motor mounts $250
+ -Alternator
+ -Power steering pump and bracket
-Dodge dakota bellhousing 93 3.9 V6
-Dodge dakota fly wheel 130 tooth
-Clutch
-Jeep YJ fuel pump
-Jeep YJ fuel regulator and Fuel lines/connections
-Vehicle Speed Sensor adapter (VSS) 91-94 Jeep YJ
-Pilot Bearing adapter PT# P4876056 (not sure about this yet)
-E-fan from taurus (not necessary)

Man seeing you do your homework makes me happy.

Don't forget exhaust parts in that list. You'll have to either mate the YJ stock system to the v8 with a few off the shelf parts, or have somewhere build you a new system all together.

Cheers

I like the list man, I would add fluids and hoses to that also every one of my vacuum hoses are shot on my motor and I am replacing the spark plug wires also. Just keep trucking a way Im waiting for
b-day and Christmas to get the major parts for my swap. You will have to let us know how you like the novak mounts so I can copy them hehe.

Wouldn't be this far if you hadn't convinced me to do the swap.
As for the exhaust Im thinking about taking it in to Boise Muffler and having them build me one. We shall see how the funds are though.

Havent been able to do much lately, due to work and the gym but here is what I have done today.

Took the wiring harness off and pressure washed the motor off.

Got bored last night and test fitted the motor. It looks like the jeep was meant to have a V8.

And I got my motor mounts! I pieced them together real quick to see what I'm working with.

Looking boss bro, moving right along with the build. You will do fine with the swap the best way to learn stuff is to jump right In. I do like those mounts I didnt realize it came with everything thing needed to sling the thing in there. The rubber on my mounts are shot and replacements are at least 100 $ so I may just invest in the Novak setup. Thst V8 does look good sitting in there you got me all excited now. I'm still a long way from test fitting mine in the engine bay partly cause I dont want to quit driving and wheeling it for a while.

Yeah man, I think the novak mounts are the way to go. But the only reason I tore mine apart was because it had a nasty knock. Other wise I wouldn't have even considered a swap just because I hate my jeep sitting in the garage.

Looking good!
As far as exhausted goes, Boise muffler shouldn't charge you more than $250 for a totally new set up from the headers back. They quoted me $180 for a complete system for my 4.0 and I can't imagine it being too much more for the 5.9...

Cheers

On a small break from the engine swap, waiting to sell more parts off the old engine to pay for new parts.

So I decided I'd line my wheel wells with this stuff I got for free.

Prepped with xylene and sand paper.

Post prep

Finished. This was super easy, total of an hour.

Looks good.
Can you snap a pic of how those TJ flares I got you turned out? I've been curious to see! The paint match should look super sweet right?

Cheers
