UPDATE: SEE PAGE 4 (post #50 for GenRight Tube Fender install and pics; post #75 painted fenders)

Just traded in my 1994 Sahara YJ for a 2003 Rubicon TJ!! Very excited

At the moment it has a lift and 33s. Whoever had it never rotated the tires so the fronts are almost done for. Thinking between 33 Goodyear MTRs or BF Goodrich KM2s on Pro Comp 7028s.

If anyone can help I can't tell how much lift it has, but these are worn 33s. It has stock control arms but Rubicon Express shocks. Maybe someone with more experience can eye-ball it for me or suggest an easy way to determine to lift. EDIT: This is a Rubicon Express Standard Lift (3.5'')

UPDATED PIC (9/12/11)

Here's an UPDATED list I've got:
  1. 3-link front, 4-link rear suspension w/ stretched wheelbase
  2. King Coilovers (Outboard rear)
  3. Currie Anti-Rock w/ front aluminum arms
  4. Savvy UA System
  5. Savvy Front Bumper
  6. SuperWinch EPi9
  7. Full cage (custom built, frame tie-ins, through the dash,)
  8. GenRight G3 Tube Fenders w/ 4" Flare (complete)
  9. Nemesis Industry Billy Rocker Kit (completed)
  10. Poison Spyder Crusher Corners/Stnd Flare (completed)
  11. Poison Spyder Rear Stinger Tire Carrier (completed)

I plan on enlisting into the Air Force after college and attempting Pararescue. Once I'm settled into that and have some more money for a different DD, I'm going to retire this Jeep and make it a trail only rig. Once that happens my dream is to stretch it, upgrade the suspension to a long arm, and add coil-overs and 37"+ tires and beadlocks.

I'd guess 3-4". I've got 3.5" on 33" tires and it looks about the same.

Thanks guys, I was looking at the 3.5 X Factor Pro Long Arm kit and wanted to keep the Rubicon Express shocks that came with the Jeep.

Tomorrow it'll be time to get it inspected, get tags, and pay taxes on it . First thing's first...gotta get new tires. Think I'm getting 33" MTR w/ Kevlar and Pro Comp 7028 wheels!

That thing is beautiful as is! Love the color combo and lift/tire combo!

Thanks! I love the color as well and plan on keeping the lift the same. Just looking at tightening up the suspension a bit...the coil lift makes it feel like I'm in a boat sometimes

QUICK UPDATE: Just got the tires rebalanced and rotated. That pretty much got rid of the shimmy! Got it realigned and changed to synthetic oil.

ABOUT TO ORDER: (1) Poison Spyder Aluminum Crusher Corners w/ LED lights, (2) Poison Spyder Bolt-on Standard Crusher Flare, (3) Poison Spyder Rear Stinger Tire Carrier, (4) Teraflex Short SYE and CV Driveline, (5) Nemesis Industries Billy Rocker Kit.

Still considering if I want to go ahead and get the Metal Cloak Overline Fenders so I don't have a stock front fender flare with the tube rear fender flare.

If your spare is new, buy one new tire that matches your current one. use on of your fronts as a spare, then put your spare up front and put the new tire on the other front wheel.

Not a bad idea American I might give that a whirl! I've been thinking that with the tube fenders I might just save up for 35s!!

Painted Headlight Bezels

Ok, so today has been boring and I had the stuff to do this. I painted the headlight bezels! Whoever did it before did no prep whatsoever!!

Before

After

Paint and Tools

I basically just took them out (pretty easy if you're thinking about doing this, just 3 star head screws). Don't mix up the left with the right or vise versa. I used some sandpaper I found in the garage and just scuffed up the chrome and took some of the flaking black paint from before off.

Add 2 coats of primer, and 2 coats of Krylon Fusion Black Satin and BAM

They look new

Just order PSC aluminum Crusher corners, flare, rear stinger tire carrier, LiteDOT plate light, and Nemesis Industries aluminum Billy Rocker Kit!!

TJ on a diet!!

I'm holding off on the SYE/CV Driveline until it gets closer to ordering the lift. After this and a couple smaller purchases my checking account will need to reboot :P

EDIT w/ some pics from the websites:

Something I haven't seen done is color matching the skid plate on the rear stinger tire carrier to the Jeep's color. I'm going to get a price quote on that at the local powder coating shop and see if it's worth it. Also plan on color matching the crusher corners and leaving the flare and rocker armor black powder coated.

I've been reading a lot of write-ups on the forum, and I think I'm going to paint the hardtop black, paint the wheels a flat black (and get the rust off), paint the dash black, and while I'm at it do the dash LEDs.

This should keep me busy while the new trail armor comes in!! Also thinking about buying the clear lens kit for the corner lights and turn signals to match the new clear LEDs that will be going into the crusher corners. The IPF headlight conversion is looking good too!!

Today I stripped the paint and rust off my wheels and sprayed them with bedliner. Also painted to interior dash black. Going to paint the hardtop with the bedliner as well.
