well I dont reeeeeallly wanna sell it, but I have the oppurtunity to buy a 94 xj thats semi built for 400 bucks, so that would kinda become another project, and with college commuting coming up it may not be that bad of an idea to have some money.
but I dont wanna sell it, its more of a "If I need the money" do you think I could get that much.
btw I pick up my adj. rear uppers this sunday if anyone is interested.
Ordered front and rear solid diff covers last night.
I went to the local shop that was gonna build my adjustable uppers, and I wasn't really impressed with the quality of there work, especially there welds, and while they havent had a single issue, I can lay a better bead then some of the welds they had at their shop, especially now that I have gas with my mig.
SO I decided to look at my other options, and being at their shop kind of inspired me.
Im gonna 4 link my rear! Im going to essentially copy the design of these builds: mid arm build
Im only doing the rear and I wanna stick to shorter arms, similar to the first link, but I am gonna make my own truss like what is shown in the second two links
so I graduate the 14th of june, Instead of your typical senior week, my buddy and I decided that were gonna just take off work and have a wrenchfest to get this and a bunch of other mods done, than go to rausch creek for a couple days to test em all out
my girlfriend may be getting my those suspension seats on page 1/2
getting an idea of what I am gonna need for the four link
getting a hold of some spare 35 shafts and a 35 lsd that came out of a police interceptor jeep xj, Really looking at putting an aussie in my front axle also, I actually feel that a front locker will help my rear axle since I probably wont have as much wheel spin when I lift a tire.
Great looking jeep man! I am plannin on 4-linking my rear one of these days too, so I'll be following yours with the eyes of a hawk. also, as for the aussie vs. tummy tuck, I'd say the aussie, because I personally wish I had a locker literally every time I wheel, and you already have the stock skid, which is pretty low hanging, but it definitely works! just my two cents.
^^^ you defenitely make a good point about the aussie, but on the same token, when I get stuck its most of the time on my belly, so while a locker may give me more traction to get out, a belly skid would also prevent the stuck entirely
as for the 4-link, Im really hoping its gonna work out, I need to head to my local welding shop and get prices though first, my 115v mig is no match for .25" wall square tube. I will be following goldswim's build the closest.
I got the unit bearing off the shaft today in school, wasn't too bad, gotta clean p the shafts and tear down the u-joints so I can put new 5-760's in it.
