Sarge's New and Improved Build thread
So I had an old build thread... it sucked! I think it has to do with my poor spelling and lack of pics, well this year I am gonna turn over a new leaf and try this again
So heres my old thread: Lame... bandit's old jeep build
So lets recap the last year and a half in a few pics:cool:
day one, all stock... besides JF's number one mod... Black headlight surrounds!
After the very first round of mods: Rampage top, CJ style mirrors and Warrior Products front bumper. This was the jeep and I's first road trip, it had no problems doing 65-70 on the highway and it worked like a champ!
In the spring I got in touch with a few of my buddies over on NAXJA and we planned my first rausch trip.
But before I could really go wheeling I needed some Disco's
Now onto the Rausch Trip
Me airing down and disco'in for the first time in my life, I think I can do it in like 3 minutes now:cheers2:
And the damage of the day... Oppa:shhh:
This brings us to July 2009
Post 2: Build Stage 2!
Alright, I got the itch, I was ready
SO Round Two:
Teraflex HD Oilpan Skid
Rugged Ridge D30 Skid
RC 2.5" Lift
32x11.5 Maxxis Bighorns
And Whala, Sarge Got his name
How I rock in the summer... full tops are for squares!
I added a CB and off to rausch I went again!
Than I added an mml... I had vibes and I refused to drop my tcase, I rock with a bunch of xj guys and all there tummy are nice and high
And off to rc I went again:cheers:
I led so not a whole lot of pics of me
so that brings us to october, at this point THE JEEP FIEND CLUB was kickin' at it was really cool to see a club that I was one of the founding members of get to 20 local members in two months
After this came round three of mods:2thumbsup:
It never ends, I decided I needed to go up an inch so I tossed in a 1" bl, I also bought a Smittybuilt non tirecarrier version rear bumper
I also picked up some autopal headlights around this time
The work party
I than made my seecond road trip out to the state college area, this time for hunting season
so the jeep stayed as is for about 5 weeks... than I decided I wanted oba
some OTRATTW switches
than my most recent RC trip
This was an expensive stuck, I am still paying...
lots of ice!!!
So that brings us till now that rock screwed me BIG time... It bent my front shaft, ruined my muffler, and tweaked my tierod enough that it bent later in the day
I have a ZJ rod to go in, I also bought a front ds off of ebay, but its was worse than the one I have now! so I am in the process of returning this one and seeing if I can get my front one back in balance
I also have a rear tom woods shaft ready to go in once I get a flange adaptor for it to go on my H&T sye
maybe some 1" spacers... maybe
I am also ditching my tailgate this summer
Enjoy, I promise to actually update this thing:thumbsup:
Thats all I gotta say.
O, I forgot, that rock also mangled an lca, BIG time, I now have rc front LCA's , they are the old kind, but I got em for 25 bucks, and with this thing being alot of dd especially with college coming I will live with the urethane.
but these kicked my axle back so they really helped my castor angle, the jeep drives like its on rails, especially when I dont disco!
i like the updated build thread.
what you mean ditching tailgate?
Paint those flares heh heh
Man this Jeep sure would be sick if it had painted flares ;)
Nice build code. I think I will start a new build thread eventually. Mines alot of fluff, not enough facts/mods due to my 4 months of being a broke *** fiend. :D
So I tore the rear tom woods shaft doewn completely, this was one of his originals, it doesnt even have gold seal ujoints
I had to easy out two zerks, and I will be using new zerks to grease them, but then removing them and putting flush allen studs in so they wont bind, and I cleaned up the shaft nicely
I now need one of these so I can mate it to my H&tT
anyone got Ideas of where to go for the best price?
So guys I need your opinions
My GF likes the high back ones better so she is up for footing the extra 15 bucks for em
I am digging the lowback ones for the old school theme I am trying to incorporate throughout my jeep
