The need to re-gear kept the jeep as an on road turd. And yes Dana 35 with 35's!! So I researched and researched some more and found a 3.73 R & P set for both axles these were Dana Parts . Ordered Master rebuild kits and 3.55 and above carriers. I got my good jack stands out and went to work. This was my first gear swap and it took forevvvver to complete!! After 2 weekends I was ready to make a few test runs. The gears made a big difference and I was able run highway speeds well with the 3 speed automatic. Still needed some low end grunt. Alloy usa shafts added some strength but I was still fearing an explosion from the rear axle based on other peoples experiences.

Did get some sweet MM for cheap

So now I show how to spend a plethora!! I go to Searchers looking for some in put on maybe a directions for my future lift. And then I joke about not being able to find a Dana 44 that is locally. My conversation was over heard and then I put a holt on lifting to score these!
2003 Rubicon Axles with low miles perfect working lockers and the pumps. Oh yea I discovered they have superior chromoly inners and outers up front and chromoly shafts in the back!! Diff covers and all!! Sold mine the following week for the perfect bolt up swap.

First pic is of my ok welding skills which are improving slowly. the tubing is 4" of the plate and is in line with the fender flares. Sahara model has 4" flares. I then used flap disc for hours to clean the finish and remove the scale. I didn't have a pipe binder so I used chop saw to cut the angles. 45degree plate to tube and 22.5 for tube to tube. Factory Sahara trim uses rivets to hold a cheesy piece of metal in place. I grinded them and put new rivets to fill these holes. directly below the factory rivets is where I placed the hole for the hardware to hold the new guards. I had to use a step bit on the inside of the tube for the holes on the end. Plugged these holes with master cylinder gaskets. Paint match the rivets and done. Wife is happy she can get in the jeep with out help.

In the last picture you can see the RE belly pan
Great price on the 4.5" RE LA Kit, So I grew a beard and looked beat up after this install but well worth the ride quality. 1" holes on the side of the frame are a B.

Factory air locker pumps were mounted in the accessary tray, was able to use a write up from jeep forums to wire the pumps in.
This is nice bc I can operate the lockers independently of each other.
Also installed the Advanced adaptors transfer case slip yoke eliminator

PSC hood louver an easy project I was nervous chopping the hood but this mod really helps the heat reduction
Be sure to paint the edges and under side so it doesn't rust

Steering, is crossover style with upgrade joints. I don't recommend this style steering if you run highway speeds.
I know its not a warn as many point out but the Super winch was brand new in the box on the local forum and I paid $200 for it!
