Not much going on with the Jeep lately. Pretty much a parking lot queen. I'm taking a three day weekend in a couple weeks and taking both vehicles to my parents house. Lot's of work to get done. Still need to do the rear pinion seal, weld up the steering box skid plate, and put a pre-runner hoop on the bumper. I need to see if my buddy at JCR can snag me up some gussets for the hoop. That will help me set the rough angle I want.

I can cut some gussets pretty quick with the plasma cutter if necessary.

I'll keep that in mind. Collin told me he should be able to snag some, but if not, I will certainly hit you up on that.

Do you think I should use the 7ga steel for gussets? Or is that too much? I do have some 10ga sitting around.

Head over to Allro. They have a bin near the front register with various gussets already cut out. Or, just buy some plate (or use what you have) and just cut out triangles.

7 ga. is fine. I wouldn't use 10 ga.

Got some work done on the steering box skid plate today.

Not finished yet, I've had enough grinding and welding for a day, Going to clean everything up tomorrow and get it painted.

It's definitely mine, it's small but somewhat challenging with all the angles. Cardboard template certainly helped.

Cleaned everything up, then threw a coat of paint on since I don't want anything to rust. I won't get to mounting it until next weekend.

Well, convertible season is officially over, hardtop is back on.

Unfortunately I have to go back to Kalamazoo tonight, but I can never get enough of the view from my parents house this time of year.
