Here are some pics of the CB antenna mount:

Its a mount from Firestick, though I can't remember what the model name is. I utilized one of the existing mounting holes for the tail light when I put it on. Here's a pic of how I mounted the CB itself in the interior. If you look next to the mic, you can see where I mounted the switch for the fog lights:

And I forgot to mention my recovery gear box earlier. Its an old military night vision goggle case. I usually keep my tow straps, chains and jumper cables in it.

Great build thread! I will be watching for updates

How much do the bikes affect your mpg? I am trying to figure out a way to take a couple mountain bikes down from Canada to Moab on a roadtrip this summer.

They don't affect the mpg too much. I loose about 1-3 mpg on average when I have the bikes up there, depending on how windy it is. The Yakima rack system I have is very solid. The bikes are held very securely in place and are fairly easy to take on and off the rack. The only complaint I have is that in the summer, the bikes do tend to accumulate quite a few dead bugs on long trips. Overall though, its an excellent way to carry bikes, especially for a road trip from Canada to Moab!

Since I don't have much to do right now, I'll post up my potential build plans in the order I hope to do them:

1. Buy/ install Reese Class II Hitch.
2. Rhino line rockers
3. Fix transmission flex plate issue
4. 31" or 32" tires
5. JCR Stage 1 front bumper with d-rings and built in lights.
6. Gas tank, t-case and oil pan skid from wherever I can get the best deal
7. Rusty's flex flares
8. JCR Stage 1 sliders

After I install my hitch, I really would like to get another vehicle as a DD, that way I can have more time to work on the XJ, since I won't have to drive it everyday. Also will need a second vehicle to drive while I fix the flex plate issue as that may take some time.

You may want to check your local junk yard for some of those parts. I grabbed a gas tank skid and hitch for $40.

What kind of flex plate issues are you having?

Yea, I've already checked the two yards that are near town. They both kind of suck for scoring XJ parts. I think there's maybe 5 XJ's combined between both places and I've already scored everything useful from all five of them. Although, the XJ I got my front fiberglass clip from did have a fairly new Hidden Hitch on it. I just haven't had the time or the motivation to go back and get it yet.

As for the flex plate, I am fairly certain that my flex plate is cracked or loose. It makes a sound like rocks rattling in a tin can, seemingly at random. Sometimes it will make this loud sound, but most of the time it does not. Temperature and distance driven seem to make no difference. I've been driving with this issue for over 10k now and have been fine. But I would like to try and fix the problem as soon as I have the time and money, will with most likely be this summer since I can ride my bike everywhere while the XJ is down.

All right thanks for the pics and descriptions, I appreciate it. That night vision goggle's case is pretty tight too. Ruggid.

I know its almost spring but I thought I'd post a couple pics from the winter here, since I have no real updates on the Jeep itself. Hope you enjoy.

In other news, I am hoping to make it out to Jeep Safari in Moab the last weekend of March, as I will not be able to make it out there on Easter weekend like I originally planned. If anyone is interested let me know.
