I'll try and keep an updated photo here for quick reference:

I have a build thread on another forum but this seems to be the place with more activity.. I have a bunch of pictures of the build so far, so I'll just upload them all and start from there! Started with an 05 Tj that ended up on its lid.. Insurance paid out and decided to start on an xj this time around. Some pics of the old Tj. image-3331046697.jpg image-2146897611.jpg image-1371726155.jpg Picked up this cherry little 1996 2 door xj. Completely stock, 150k on the clock, 4.0, 4x4 and 5 speed. image-2490884642.jpg image-2124666775.jpg image-3769373814.jpg image-151368034.jpg

Next will be a slim roof rack that I will make out of 1" round tube, front bumper to mount my warn winch, and some sort of rear tire carrier to free up some space inside.

Wanted more secure tie downs inside the cargo area, so today I tossed the old factory rings and installed something with some beef to it.

Are those from Mac's? That is a CLEAN looking XJ man. Mine was not so clean. How was getting out the rear shock bolts? I wish my lift only took 2 days haha. Keep the pics coming. I love that you have a 5spd. I wanted one but they want too much money for them out here.

Thanks man, I appreciate the kind words!!

They aren't from Mac's actually, these are hi-lift brand that I ended up getting from... 4 wheel parts (don't judge me.)

I actually got lucky with my xj, the joys of a California car that was babied, not a single broken bolt in the entire lift.

Replaced the stock group 58 battery with a larger and more powerful group 34. Only had to do some slight trimming of the battery tray, otherwise it slid right in.

Also, finally got around to installing the SYE, the difference is night and day. Got rid of the horrible tcase drop and now it's smooth as can be.

Which SYE did you go with? Also, is that an XJ front driveshaft you used or a custom?

It's the rugged ridge SYE, pretty much the same as other short shaft kits, other than the super short.. It's a custom rear driveshaft, not a stock front shaft.

Parts on the way:
-Napier precision flares
-Brown dog motor mounts
-Transmission mount
-Re control arm drop brackets w/braces
-Ironman 4x4 fab long travel shackle relocation kit
-.75" spacer (if the shackle relocation lifts the rear too high)
-A Tj lower shift boot to seal up the giant hole under the console for the shifter
