Frame plates came in today! Just a matter of time now for when I pull her in the garage and start tearing her down.. Was getting some transmission fits today. Wouldn't shift out of first, but after playing with a scanner for a little bit got it fixed but I don't know for how long.. I guess we'll see

Pulled the Jeep in the garage this evening and starting tearing it down.. Going to work on it a little bit here and there through the week and most of the day on the weekend.. There is a Durhamtown trip coming up at the end of october I'm going to try and have it ready for but we'll see..

Only going to be able to get 1.5" out of it instead of the 2" I had thought..

Got a little more done with the XJ today.. Since I noticed I couldn't get more then 1.5" of stretch out of the leaf perches I have. I ordered a set of ruff stuff 2+ perches, which will give me 1-3" of stretch off the bat. So pulled the axle today so when they come in I can have them installed. Also started with the rear lower cut and fold. Was only able to get one side semi done. Ran out of cut off wheels and need some rivets to finish.

New brackets came in yesterday. These things are extremely beefy and I'm quite pleased with them.. Dropped the axle off yesterday as well to have them installed.. should have it back today and possibly back under the jeep by tonight..

Fit in the back of the TJ

Those brackets do look beefy! I would think that the way they're built would put more leverage on the springs, causing axle wrap. I'm no engineer by any means though, I'd keep an eye on that

Yeah I've taken that into consideration.. I called ruffstuff before I ordered them and talked to one of their reps. From what he said there were no known issues with axle wrap. They are 8" long, longer then the leaf pads I had on there by at least 4" so I'm sure I won't have a problem. But we'll see

Got the axle back today and back under the Jeep. Haven't got everything hooked back up yet just enough to sit it on its own weight to get an idea of where the tires sit so I can start cutting.. Going to be taking my half inch block out since these brackets sit a good bit higher then the old ones. My only issue is that RuffStuff didn't do a very good job tapping the plates.. I had to spend about an hour re-tapping and cleaning up the threads. Luckily enough for me my old boss had a 5/8 18 tap he let me borrow, I would have hated to actually have to buy one that big.. Other then that Im pleased with these leaf brackets so far.. Won't do a full review till she's all finished and Im driving it again..

Well started cutting today.. Almost done with the passenger side. Just need to get a filler piece and re attach everything good.. Then will start on the driver side, I got a feeling that side will be a little more work with the filler neck being over there and all but we'll see. Im going to clean the up a little but not going to put too much effort into it because my armor will cover it all up anyway..

Looks good! I like the rear wheel wheels opened up like that. How do the u bolts work with the new mounts not being over the center of the axle?

There are no U-Bolts now. Just bolts into a plate on the leaf perch.

Got a lot of the welding done last night. All thats left on the passenger side is to burn the shock hoop in and armor. Will start on the driver side sometime today. Going to make a cardboard template of my armor today as well so I can take it to the fab shop to have that cut. Found out yesterday my taillight housings won't ship out till next thursday... Hopefully going to have it drivable again by mid to the end of next week. Was able to get enough out of my driveshaft to get it to my buddy's shop last night to do the welding. Will most likely be pulling it out and taking to carolina driveline to get lengthened.

Got the driver side done today.. Was a lot harder then the right side with the filler neck being there. Pretty much finished with the whole thing just a few bits and bobs to get done. Going to clean it up and seal all the holes up tmm and then monday or tuesday have my armor made and my driveshaft extended.

Got it back on all fours today. Going to make the armor template tomorrow morning and take it over to the fab shop so they can get started. Still needs a little bit of working to get perfect. So far the verdict is still out on if it turned out to my standards or not.. Won't really know that till I get the armor on and it lowered a bit. Here are the only pics from today...
