You are the only one I know (besides me) that gets all worked up over new Jeep parts.

In love with a starter Well... at least you can always clean it up and bring it back. Being that your Jeep is manual, you can just pop start it to get you going again.

Well, I don't know if it deserves a picture but it's identical to this:

And yes, I do tend to get worked up with shiny new stuff.

you would think someone would make a rubber boot to go over starters on offroad vehicles

No kidding! After taking apart the old one, I figured out how crap got in. I plugged up the holes in the new one with dielectric grease and also plastered the connections.

Maybe it's part of the differencs between TJs and XJs but I've had my NAPA starter for about 3 years now and I'm sure there has been a lot of mud from wheeling, still works just as good now as it did the day I put it in..... Now if I would just fix the check valve in the fuel line so it would fire first try every time.

You guys are getting so worked about about an electric motor that makes things go vroom. You are more excited about this starter than you were about the corners Imped

T-minus 3 days............

Threw Adam's old Rubi flares on last night. I'm liking the look and I'll really like less mud in my face this weekend.

Hey a couple of question questions for you:

1) You have a 1.25" body lift, right? How did you get the rear crossmember to line up like that so that it looks like there's no gap? Do you have any pictures of the welds inside on the end of the frame?

2) It doesn't look like you have any lighting on your license plate. Is that legal in Indiana, or do cops just not hassle you about it? You have a hook-up for inspection?

TNT sells their xmember in two flavors--standard and 1" body lift. I had no issues with the extra 1/4". In addition, it sucks the rear of the gas tank skid up an extra 1". I may be able to get you some pictures of the welds.

No, I don't have any license plate lighting. I've never been hassled about it and we don't have inspections here. The white plate reflects light well enough that even a single headlight off in the distance lights it up well.

I have a starter that is caked in old grease and oil...no mud or water can get in. 2 years of hard wheeling and no issues.
