I don't care if it's loud as long as it's normal.....my NV3550 is abnormally loud, even for an NV3550.

Ever looked into upgrading to a Peugot from a YJ?

I hate those transmissions. How is that an upgrade?

I'm pretty much set on an AX-15. Common, cheap, durable, similar ratios to what I have now.

My nsg is nice and quiet, but it's my second one. The first one was a loud ****er though.

It was a joke.

Anyways, I don't like the 3.83:1 first gear of the AX-15s. Good luck.

Ah, over my head, my bad. Insert delayed laugh here:

Yeah, those things are POS's. And yeah, I'm not a fan of the higher 1st gear so I may opt for another NV3550.

Anymore input on that drivetrain clunking I feel? Both of my hands are pointing to the transmission but I've got no proof other than a hunch.

Checked the T-case chain, etc?

Check and make sure the nut on your Lo pro tranny mount is still snug cause mine backed off once and my drive train was clunking pretty good. Check the bushing while you are down there too

I love the gearing spread and the nice low first gear in the NSG370, like it so much I took it out the lil Jeep and bolted it in my big Jeep, to get the gearing I wanted

The problem isn't a mount issue at all. Plus, I no longer use that mount.

That's right, I forgot you switched over to the savvy skid.

And yeah art I agree on it having a good spread, I love mine it just makes some noises. It's expected though cause I don't have carpet and its about a quarter of an inch off the floor board.

Dude that sucks, I would pull **** apart, start with the trans, work your way back.

My trans is quite, and it's the same as yours, I don't know what I'd do if it was loud

What type of fluid do you run in it? I switched from RP to Redline and it made a big difference as far as shifting.
