You should do one of those shots going down the highway/speed bumps/everyday driving, so we can see how they handle then.

That was a video of back in February, just a late post.....as for the front, I would have to add a way to make the winch double as a suck down and that's easier said than done. The front suspension feels a lot better than it did on stock mounts but yeah, it's about as good as it'll get unless I add a center strap or suck down mounts. That wasn't holding me back, though. Fear of the axles breaking--and remember, the rear did later that day--was. All the new parts are in, I just need some time to install.

I want to do that so that I can get a good feel for how much they deflect, just like I could with the JJ's. I'll do that once it's back on the road. But if you want to see how they handle speed bumps and such.....the 'speed bumps' in that video are a lot bigger and I hit them a lot faster than I would on the road. Another video won't show you anything you haven't already seen and won't sway your decision one way or the other.

In other news, all parts are here.

I've also been figuring out how I'll build the future front 609. I've decided to use 99-04 Ford ball joint outers due to the ease of bolt pattern change, cheaper bearings and brake parts, and better availability. The bolt pattern is 8x170mm, which I don't plan on using. I'll either use 8x6.5 or 5x5.5, depending on which hubs I go with in the rear axle.

99-04 on the left, 05+ on the right

As you can see, there's no room on the 05 to shrink that bolt pattern down due to the larger bearing bore.

Here's some other pictures:

1550, 1480, 1310 (5-760x) steering u-joints

Will running those giant Ford calipers require a different master cylinder? Any idea what calipers you will run in the rear that will compliment the front?

Yes it will. I haven't dug into that hard yet but I have a feeling I know what MC I'll run. As for the rear brake parts, it looks like S10 calipers/pads and rotors may be the way I go. We'll see, still a long way from requiring a decision.

Yeah, I thought that video was pretty cool. I wasn't hauling crazy *** or anything but it's faster than I would go through that stuff in the past. And actually, the fastest I went that day wasn't on camera.

Just a picture

Whats the fastest you think you went during the highspeed suspension footage?

About 40-45mph. Nothing too crazy.

South is certainly easier than West.....hmmm.

But seriously, I'm working on landing a new job that can hopefully provide a little more time off.
