Well, I gotta know... did you get to hit "Truss breaker" with the new setup?

Sounds like you guys had a little too much fun today

All I know is that breaking stuff, after all that work sucks the big one.
The big question is did you have a ball while creating carnage

That's the "it don't work no more" kind of carnage...and if a trailer was required, I'm willing to bet that it's that kind. Of course, if fun was had in the process and said carnage is used as a reason to beef and improve...no foul.

Whoops didn't mean to cut out on you guys, got distracted...

We both had rear diff issues. I'm pretty sure mine is a broken ring gear, but possibly a locker. I'm not sure of his specifics (I was driving the TJ in the quarry when he broke his...we got separated).

That TJ is pretty nasty in person. I have some searching to do for a few deals, but after today I got angry enough that I may take my build a complete different direction, and I may try and talk conner into some built JK axles and steering

I would have guessed the front axle gave out, not the rear.
I'll stick with the go big or go home way of building.
Still sucks for ya both that the weekend's wheelin got cut way short

His day wasn't cut too short (mine was, in the JK anyway). I can't believe how fast a flat bed showed up...I saw the truck leaving as I was pulling off the trail, and I only got the "rear diff" text from him a real short minute before

I watched for a few minutes before heading back to the JK to limp it back to the trailer. He may pleasantly surprise me, but I didnt think he was going to make it

By the way sorry to hear you broke your rig. Broke the TJ or your JK?
Also nice trailer, wish my truck would pull one of those.
Would come in handy when my buggy is done

Broke the JK...I'm about ready to light the ****er on fire. ****s about to get really super awesome, now. Got the suburban running great, so I'm going to go off the deep end with the JK.

Thr trailer we used today is a big one...5,500lbs 3 axle 2 car. My buddys f250 pulls that 15,000 lbs comfortably

Edit - sorry for the derail

It would less expensive to put a block of wood under the skinny pedal.

That's the thing...first gear wasn't cutting it, so I gave it a second gear goose. A small hop and it made it right up. The small hop also ****ed the gear, but never should have. I'm still at a loss. All symptoms point to ring gear, but a broken locker just makes more sense.
