Durango Air Hat

I finished my air hat today. Used my stock air tube and it worked great. I cut out the bracing in the hat and trimmed the little tabs in order to angle it to fit. Its tight, but it seems to fit with no issues. I had to cut some bracing out on the hood with a grinder. There are some rough measurements of how much to remove. She has a more aggressive sound and better throttle response. Havent driven it enough to tell any other differences n it yet. Got my air hat for the price of... FREE, delivered to my house by my buddy

I pressed all my ball joints and upper CA bushings out today. I used this for the CA bushings. It was super badass!

I cant figure out where to put my pass side axle seal in that HP30.. Im trying to bypass the CAD system

Random question, do you think if you turned the hat around to fqce the other way that you could have kept from cutting the hood??

It would have def helped but then my inlet tube would have been 180* off, if that makes sense.

Yeah if your intake is routed to the other side that air hat angle would work in your favor by running it to 180*

No issues with installing the truss without having it mocked up in place?

You just set it on 3 jackstands and adjusted the pinion so it was pointed 13* up?

I'm really leaning to this even though it is $100 more than the IRO I like having a truss, even though it will be overkill, and I can mount Clayton links in the future if I go that way in the future.

I got all but my shock mounts tacked into place and dry fit under the jeep to make sure everything was gonna jive. I believe the instructions called for 11* on the pinion angle but I went a tad more. Get one of those angle finders to do so. And if you have adjustable CA's you can (obviously) kinda fudge your pinion angle a bit and then make up for it in your arms, if that makes sense. It was a fun build, that truss was cake to put on. I would suggest modifying the shock brackets so you triangulate them. I didnt cause I was too impatient.
