Must wheel but cant UGHHH.

Have you tried the suckdown on any long hillclimbs yet? How'd it do?

Im thinking with my wheelbase I wont need one. If I do I'll copy you.. Kinda

Are you worried that this winch is overloaded at 2,000# and will fail?

I'm just wondering what kind of forces it is actually seeing. When you use it, will you really be sucking the suspension down to the bumpstops or just tightening it so that the suspension can not unload like you have experienced before?

not at all,,i dont trust the cheap winch as far as the aluminum drum,no brace on top of the spool like a better winch, and 2 bolts holding it on lol..
i will only be useing it to touch the button till i see the line is tight against ride hight when i use it for sure..even now with the synthetic line ,when i suck it down to the bump the winch seems fine and everything looks great,,just my mind dont like the cheap winch idea..
maybe i will get a 140.00 cheap smitty built winch ,,it looks built well with lots of unnecisary horse power lol

Gotcha

I just wasn't sure if you thought maybe the load it would see was exceeding the weight rating of the winch. But I understand the whole not trusting a cheap product also. Especially with something that, if it does fail, will possibly send your jeep back down the hill on it's roof

got the synthetic line on today finally..did a lil hand polish on the pulley and greased the bolt also..i used a 3/4 ton small d ring to attach to the frame end but im gonna get a lil bit bigger one for the heck of it..also put a thimble in the loop end since i had one.

also changed a trophy i was playing with and clear coated it.

and cleared over the rust on my wall plaque.

installed a couple club stickers today and built a new snorkel with removable top last friday to fill the hole in the hood..hopefully gonna order from jeeptubes.com soon and build me a rear stinger tire carrier..
and the suck down winch works so good since i mainly let it just stop the unloading, that im going to use the cheapo winch for a yr and see how it goes..time will tell im sure..

at this rate i shouldnt need a paint job in a few yrs..probally a dozen under the hood lol..

already changing it up a bit lol..just got a line on a 2001 dodge d60 rear with 5;13 gears, full detroit locker and its shortened with moser axles to around 63-64 inches with disc brakes rotors and calipers,8 lug bolt pattern and already has ballistic fab tj brackets on it for a 4 link..its in a buddys jeep thats going 14 bolt rear and d60 front..i should never break this stuff since it will force me to go to 37,s with the gears and hopefully that combo will be ok at 65mph with my 3 speed auto
and a 79 d44 hp"i think" with a ballistic fab truss and chromo axles, disc brakes rotors and calipers and spacers to match the rear d60..the catch for this one is it needs a pass side axle, knuckle and balljoints since they sheared off on our sat jeep ride lol..wish me luck on the cash and trade deal..will know tomorrow for sure if its gonna happen.

if anyone can give me any info to if a 2001 dodge 8 lug full floater d60 is a great axle please let me know? cant find much info on it yet.
