He's in the Navy Reserves, both of us are, same unit actually. I just didn't get to go to the sand box with them. Hopefully I will soon though, thats how I plan on paying for my next phase.

Ok... I see now. That makes much more sense. When I played baseball, one of my coaches worked for an airline company, and took a 6 year leave of absence to fly his beloved C5A. I live about 15 minutes from Stewart Airport (where they are flown out of) and their path goes down the Hudson River so I see them fly over my house frequently. While he was flying for the reserves he would always bank left and right repeatedly a little so that people his friends knew he was back in town (and since they fly so low over our area, they look like they are about to hit everysingle house, it is pretty cool)

First, here are some pics from the other day. We got the innards of the engine compartment re-installed.

The hole I still have to fill with the bezel. Bleh.

Tail Lights

They might not look like much, but Rod was 15ish feet behind me in his Jeep at a red light, and with my foot on the brake, I could see everything inside the cab of his Jeep like he had a red dome light. They are REALLY bright. More to come.

"LCOG" isn't cheap and it certainly isn't easy. If you think so, you are doing it wrong. If you aren't willing to put in the effort, don't label your build "LCOG". You are just a cheap ******bag.

I didn't get any pics of the front coming out apparently, oh well.

Here is the front getting ready to go under for mock up.

The front end.

My Jeep is freed from the stock axles. We pulled the D35 first I think. I don't think we took pics. I don't want picture proof of it. Thank you Dave. It was good to me while it lasted. You may have it back now.

Cutting CA bracket off of passenger side.

Random pic of me.

The "Ordinary".

Robert with the Ordinary

Me with the Ordinary. There was nothing ordinary about this thing.

The axles.

And here was some more mock up.

That concluded the pics from that night. More to come.

How the day started.

A trip to Fairmount to take the wheels to Rod's dads, and pick mine up.

And, all loaded up.

On jack stands.

Getting some brackets burnt on.

Suspensiony goodness.

The rear.

The welds.

Getting things in place.

Balancing wheels. 15 oz in each.

Mike (Gribbles) looking drunk as hell.

Me "working"

Back to front.

Front

Robert taking a nap.

Me working.

More to come.

Rod working.

Me working.

Rear mock up.

Getting into the exhaust.

Break time. Lifting those axles around takes a lot out of you.

All linked up with nowhere to go.

Coil relocators.

More to come.

wow I scan through a few pages and come back to all this.
Anyway I noticed you have the wraparound windjammer. How do you like it?
I dunno if it snows where you're at but I was wondering how it holds up to weather.
I want to run mine just like yours, with a full safari and a sound bar outside.

Someone grinding/cutting something. Probably Rod cutting into the frame...

On coils.

4-Link

lol the runs from my first time handling a paint gun. Oh, and more 4-link

Uh-oh...

Rod putting brakes back together. I put tires on. They don't stick out that far.

Once the rear was on rubber I went ahead and poked around at some clearances. Diff is CLOSE. Going to have to raise that gas skid up the 1.25 I've got under it.

Brakes

Sitting on all 4's.

This is before the "headaches". I'll get to that tomorrow once I get a better idea if everything is going to be worked out or what.

Here's the !@#$%^&*() tapered reamer. They are damned expensive. Still pretty pissed I had to pay 100 bucks for one of these. Don't give me some "oh you should have went here or there" I don't want to hear it. I called every machine shop/automotive machining/machining supply store in the greater indianapolis area to get one and could not. This was the CHEAPEST one I could get with the proper angle. The next person that does 1 ton steering is giving me $25 to rent it. And woe be to them if they burn it up.

That bit pisses me off more than most other things. But if it's not that, it's something else. More on all that tomorrow. I'm going back to Roberts after work. I'm hoping to work out some bugs and be driving it tomorrow. Sorry there were no better pictures. We were all pretty busy. Aside from that, Robert's garage was pretty full of my Jeep, amongst other things. I'll get some better full-on pics later. Until then, too bad.

Hope you enjoyed them.

It's a reaming bit for the knuckles for 1 ton tie rod ends.

James, for the first day in a long while, I have NOTHING going on tomorrow after noon. I would be glad to lend a hand....really glad actually. Let me know if you could use it.

Actually, the tie rod ends almost fit. I could probably run them as is. I'm going to ream the knuckles a bit anyways though. The bit is actually going to be used mostly for the pitman arm and the hole in the knuckle that the draglink sits in.

I'll give you a call tomorrow Connor. I don't know for sure yet what's going on. Once I do, I'll call you.

Oh, and here is the new home for the Land Terrains...

Haha happy to help man, I wish I could have actually helped wrench, but unfortunately everyone likes to build fall/winter/spring and I'm home in the summer! BTW did you guys every figure out what the noise was? Is my axle cool? I hope so cuz if it is, depending on how much I get for it and the spare shafts I will probably be looking at getting some front tube fenders

Also, suspension looks gorgeous, the blacked out moabs look absolutely wicked, and damn 100 bones for that thing? I was pissed when I had to pay 18 bucks for 1 drill bit to drill out my bellypan nutserts

Glad to see it looks like your keeping your sanity for the most part, when I get to this stage of Jeep building I'm about ready to burn my Jeep to the ground, then again knowing my Jeep, it doesn't need any help catching on fire
