Some test pics of the flares to make sure James is ok with the size of the trim:

I am sure TNT sent everything but with all the places these have been and all the times we've mounted and unmounted and moved things around odds are well find them in a month under something. Pretty sweet they are sending more. Rod the paint looks great you are plannind on wraping the black trim around towards the body on the lower part of the flares so the black parts meet up aren't you.

Man... Looks so ghetto with that mismatched paint. I am sorry Rod, I don't want you to paint my Jeep anymore.
That whole thing looks hideous, well... except for the tape off. JK Just looks like guys really need that buff. The new stuff is so nice and shiny that the old paint looks a little worn. Continue the Amazing work thier Rod. Also... That tape line looks like it should be a good size. Is that a little bit smaller than the width of a factory flare??? ![]()

Believe it or not, the factory Rubi flares are 4.5". Which is the same width as these flares. Non Rubi flares are an inch shorter.
We'll get the rest of everything buffed up eventually. And yes Jerry, the black will follow the contour of the flare.

The Rubi flare is 4.5", the stock flare is 3.5", but what is that tape off, 2.5"?? 3"??? (measured from the outside of the tube to the edge of the tape)
That sure doesn't look like 4.5" black going on

It's about an inch and a halfish of black.

1 3/4" strip of black on the flares, just wide enough to cover up most all of the spots where I sanded though the color
And yes, the black will follow the curve of the flare. I didn't do all that, just in case James wanted me to change the width. It's not easy doing those and make them look right, and I wasn't going to waist my time on them, untill I knew James was happy with the width. The one on the passenger front was just as an example |
