Firstly, I would like to thank Pat (Nevermonday) and Blaine (mrblaine) for all of their help with all of my questions, the phone calls, and everything else. Without those two, I'd be clueless. Also a big thanks to Robert, Rod, Jerry, Connor, Chris, Marty, and Mike. For all of the help so far, and all the work that you'll help me with that you don't know about yet. Also, thank you to Idaho Jeep, thedirt, jason m, Jerry Bransford, and anyone else that I may have missed. There have been tons of people on here who have given me plenty of advice (not that I listened to all of it ) but I think I've got what I want figured out now with everyones help. So, cheers to you.
I started ordering parts today for my build, so I thought I'd go ahead and make a thread. There won't be any actual building until I get home from Kuwait, but until then, I figure someone may want to look in on what I'm up to.
If I had any idea how much things would change.... lol... yeah... I edited the first post because I saw how wrong it was after not being changed for like 2 years. Anyways, the Jeep changes a lot in this thread. Enjoy the read, and the banter. There's lots of that. Lots and lots of that.
I've no need for a 4:1 currently. Eventually, if I break the 231, we'll see. But for now, I've got enough other issues to worry about currently. The Dakota digital box is a speedo correction solution for those with a sye so short it removes the speedo gear.
As for what's next, I'm going to keep on building the jeep stronger. I still have some issues to address here and there. Right now I'm working on spare shafts, I also still need to get rid of my stock gas tank, do cagework, bumpers, tire carrier, the list goes on.
B. Freshman year, I drove home for Christmas break and all I had left to do was edit and email my final paper for an English class. Turned out my 8-10 page paper didn't save correctly. Thought it was still on my roommate's flash drive, so at 4 am I'm driving back to Bloomington (in a NASTY ice storm, it took me twice as long as usual to get there) to get the flashdrive and then I get there and I can't find it. The prof had the only copy left and I had to have the paper edited and turned in to her in 6 hours. In the end she had to go find it... in the trash... and I had to then retype and edit the 8-10 pages. Awful.
Oh, and I've thought for a bit that my front end was loose ever since the shock install, but after checking everything, I couldn't find a reason. Well, it turns out the front driver side shock is bad. Now that it is caked with redbird clay, it's easy to see the leak. I firmly believe that it was bad from the factory as I bumpstopped more than needed both times I've wheeled it, and when it did hang, it wasn't hard, or for long. I'll be calling 4wp tomorrow to check on a warranty on it.
Currie bumpstops are here. I'll get to them sometime this week hopefully. Still gotta get those inner c's welded on sometime too. I'm doing the welding work for Jerry's suspension sometime this week. So it shouldn't be a problem getting them burnt in then.
Two papers to finish up tonight/tomorrow and two finals tomorrow. Another final on friday and I'm done for the semester. Then summer school starts in a few more weeks.

I need to do something with my bumpstops... I custom extended mine but the fronts are almost touching the inside of the coils. I'm going to check out those curries. Either that or I'm going to run stock length and just bolt in hockey pucks at the base.
Homework is done! I just have one final tomorrow and I can call it quits for this semester. WOOT!
Now then, onto business. I'm going to go finally wash this Redbird clay off the Jeep, and then head to Jerry's to help him with his lift. I'll probably fire up the welder just to make sure everything is working alright. YAY FOR FREE TIME. Oh yeah, we are going to see Iron Man 2 tonight for my birthday too. Awesome night for sure.
Some happy b-day pics were posted that weren't really appropriate as a technical post. Looks like there was some house cleaning done to clean up the comments about them too.
BTW - I didn't think anything inappropriate was posted or said (besides the fat chick being absolutely gross). I've seen a lot less covered hot chicks bump posted in the monthly TJOTM threads then what I posted. Unless spyder got his feelings hurt, I don't see why it was deleted. But oh well... back to topic.
To all that are wheeling at the Badlands June 25-27.....I've started a thread for the run on indyorv.com in the open section. Please feel free to create an account and direct any questions, comments, or banter in that thread. You know who you are.
Sorry James for once again hijacking your thread, but its the one place that everyone that is coming this weekend will see my post.
Can you post or email me a picture of the truss on the rear end and front end not installed in your Jeep?
Can you measure the width of the axle?
I know they are 61 or 65 I can not remember.:hahaha:
I have a find, I can get the assembly though my dealership for 819.00 + fees. And the front for 1500.00 +fees. I really do not want the front cause of lack of Funds at the moment. But I and trying for mate it to my HP44 I got for cheap.
I would have PM you on this matter rather than posting in your tread. But you are not a paying Member any more. :cheers2:
It's all good dude. I can still get pm's, I just have to delete them quickly.
I don't know the part number.
They are 65.5" wide.
Rock on with the jk axles dude! They are awesome.
I'll have to go digging for the pics, they are on my photobucket somewhere search photobucket for bennettj13. You might find them before I can get to it. I'm still trying to help rod get his new rear axle in.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
