I think I am going to go with 4" flares all the way around and get them professionally painted to match the body. I have been going between the black powdercoat and getting them painted and I think I am going with painted. There is no point to work on it through winter so I have time on my side but to anyone following I will for sure have a big pile of parts in 2 or 3 weeks

Just another quick update. I placed my order for all my metal cloak stuff, wheels and tires. I decided to get the fenders powder coated, and instead of buying the corner guards I decided against them and added in a 4" flare all the way around. Everything should be getting installed on the 25th

Another update. The wheels and tires came on time, but I am now a little disappointed with Metalcloak. I was first told my order would ship out around the 16th, but I didn't receive any info on that. A week later I called and Matson said they were just coming back from powdercoat and would ship out Thursday the 23rd or the 24th at the latest. Here I am the following Monday with still no shipping email or an update on their website. I guess I am just getting a little impatient to get these things on but a solid ship date would have been nice. Hopefully they come this Friday at the latest

Sick dude! Sucks to hear about the slow shipping. I've been hearing that has been happening a lil too often with some other companies as well.

Got everything today except for the passenger rocker guard, somehow it didn't make it on the UPS truck but it will be out tomorrow. Everything looks great except I found a small nick in the powder coat on the step of the rocker. Nothing huge, there will be much more damage on their first run on the rocks

Well I got started Saturday around noon and finished up the front end around 7 pm.

Passenger side done

Front end done

Today I started early around 8 and finished around 5:30 so it took a good two days.

Rear plate clamped and rockers up

Mod Cut

Finished

As always pictures don't do justice, I love it. I learned that even though Metalcloak suggests center punching all your holes, take everything off, then drill, that may work in theory but for me it didn't work in reality I tried it their way on the passenger side but I had to do some lining up. With that in mind I just drilled with everything bolted straight up on the driver side and then went through with some black paint on a Q Tip

Looks good man. I'm just sold my old TJ for a newer one.

I just ordered the metalcloak overlines yesterday but I'm going for 35's.

I am changing the order of things a bit. I just bought the soft top and doors today. I wanted to re-gear first but it's getting warmer, my commute is short and I won't be wheeling for a while. I really like driving without the top and doors so I got a little excited and bought those first Hopefully they will be on next weekend

Installed the Rampage top today. I got the windows on except for the back one. The top felt too tight to get the zippers down so I am going to leave in in bikini mode (which I had already planed for) until Saturday, then I can throw the windows and doors on because it's going to snow on Monday. Typical Colorado weather, upper 70* + all week, then snow

Installed the rampage top but it was too snug so I left the rear window unzipped. Hoping that it will stretch out over night because it's real snug. Going to let it heat up in the 70* sun tomorrow

I installed my top today in the nice 70* sun. That really helped with the install, so anyone complaining about it not fitting or breaking zippers because they are using all their might to get them to fit, wait until it warms up, seriously. It's not a hunk of junk if it breaks, you just installed it in a -25* blizzard.....

Anywho, I love it!!! Install only took me about an hour and I didn't have any problems. You do need to give it time to stretch and form to your top so don't fight it!!! I test drove it on the highway and I like it. Coming from a hard top and full steel doors I don't think it's that loud and it should be noted that I went with the sailcloth version. I didn't have any problems with the Rampage header, no gaps or whistles and I didn't have to adjust it, but if you are having problems it is adjustable. I didn't time myself removing and storing the windows and doors, but it took me 7 minutes to re-install everything and that was on my first try but that's pretty quick if it looks like it's going to rain which is the reason I went with this set up. On the first review in a thread here on JF the OP said he couldn't fit the windows in the top without folding them, causing a big lump. I don't have that lump, you can't even tell the doors are up there and it looks great. All in all, 5 stars

*EDIT* The small lump above the rear window is my sound bar, the picture makes it look huge like there is a pole in there holding the top up but it's really not noticeable
