Hah, yea right. Well I had originally planned to get a BDS lift and do all the drive line stuff but I have changed my mind and am going with aluminum Metalcloak arched fenders all around. LCOG and aluminum are really starting to catch on and are both a good idea. Hopefully soon I'll have a bunch of packages at more door

damn man, get like a 2 inch lift and you'll be golden for 35s once you bumpstop right and get the right length shocks. LCOG **** is a lil bit more complicated to get right though.

Just placed an order for an Aussie locker for the D-30 along with a set of Alloy USA seals. I really wanted to keep it stock until I could buy the Metalcloak armor and tires all at once but being at home out of work is very boring, I need something to do

So I experienced a bit of a steering shimmy at 55 mph yesterday that turned into some death wbble around a turn on the highway. I had the wheels balanced a few days prior but didn't rotate them, and when I left I still felt a slight shimmy. I did a good inspection in the front end, all bushings seemed to be ok and everything is torqued down. I decided to rotate the tires myself at home and in doing so noticed the steering stabilizer was leaking so I replaced that too. I know that's not a cure all for death wobble but it was either the worn out stabilizer or the front 2 wheels are still out of balance because the shimmy is gone now.

Installed the Aussie locker today in the Dana 30, along with the Alloy USA Seals. One thing that really upset me with the seals is the one on the drivers side. The grease zerk is butted up against the dana 30 housing, so I can't get my grease gun on it Going to grab an extended zerk fitting to put on there, that should solve it. Anyone else had this problem? Both seals are installed all the way in and flush. I will snap some pictures tomorrow

Got it all fixed. Here is the passenger side, seal set, no problems



And the drivers side with the new 90* grease zerk. Took about an hour to get it in because there is so little room to work with in there, but I got it. It's hard to see from this angle because it's got grease on it and it's head on, but the zerk is facing down and away from the axle housing. The straight one that was on there was impossible to grease

Picked up a hard top today for $400!!! A total steal as they usually go for $800+ around here






It does need to be painted and it has a few nicks on the passenger side rear corner. Both problems are totally cosmetic, the glass is tinted and in perfect shape, the rear wiper/sprayer works as well as the rear defrost. No leaks or whistles I wasn't expecting to buy one this early but I couldn't pass up that deal.

Got the top painted. Sanded it, primed it and painted it with rattle can rusto. The fiberglass sure does suck up paint quick! I took it for a spin and there is a whistle coming from the passenger side somewhere The only thing I am seeing so far is the door looks like it needs to move up to get a closer tighter seal, but the back part of the door, where the latch and lock are, fit perfect, I'll do some searching.



Metalcloak is next on the wish list. Once I start working I can grab the fenders, rocker guards and corner guards all at once, and all in aluminum.

So I am tired of the hard top noise and I find that the door isn't meeting up with the windshield in the top corner. All 6 torx stripped out of course. This is what I am working with now. I drilled the head off



And I need to pull these studs out



But I can't get a bite on them with anything!!! Going to have to drill them out

So I was able to get all 6 stripped torx out!!

For 2 of them I took the door panel off and reach on the back side with a pair of vice grips and turn them out by hand.




It took a while moving only an 1/8th of a turn at a time but I got them. The other 4 came out with a left handed 3/16th drill bit. Jeep wanted $4.50 a piece for the hinge bolts so I found some flat allen head ones at Ace hardware for .50 cents a piece. Adjusted the door and the whistle is gone

Now I have noticed that when the A/C is on full blast I get some sort of howling noise coming from the back of the top, maybe the rear vents? For now I am not going to worry about it. Hopefully it doesn't do it when the heat is blasting in the winter time.

I located the howling that was coming from the top. Its connected to the rear vents. To fix it I have to either put the a/c on recirculate or crack the windiw a tiny tiny bit, not a big deal and it doesnt really do it with the heat on. So for now the top is sealed up pretty well.

Wow it's been 6 months since I have touched the TJ!!! It's been doing great as a daily driver and I am close to buying all my metal cloak stuff, wheels, and tires. I should be placing my order in about 2 weeks so keep an eye out for a pile of parts
