I haven't emailed Gerald, My Jeep is a long way away from being stock... I'm running an 8.8 rear axle, and it was set up with factory control arms originally but running 4" of lift. What I'm thinking is that all of the mounts were welded on with the pinion angle set correctly.

I'm thinking that the Savvy/Fox shocks are meant for stock axles and geometry.

It's just one more reason that it sux buying a Jeep that's already been modified by the previous owner...

Would outboarding solve the issue?

Outboard the mounts. Then you determine the travel requirements.

That's what I'm thinking of doing. I hear that outboarded shocks ride better also.

I decided to compare my shock mounts on my 8.8 axle with the shock mounts on my D44 axle.
8.8:

D44:

It looks to me like my shock mounts are in the right place, so I don't know what's going on with my new shocks being to short...
Here's some better pics of the high lift bumper mount.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Here's a few shots of the new stance with the Currie springs, it looks to me like the back end is sagging...

I ran into a wierd steering issue this afternoon on the way home from work, the Jeep drove perfect this morning, but coming home I couldn't keep it pointed straight. The Jeep wandered a bit to the left, I corrected it to go straight, but it kept going to the right, so I corrected it to the left a bit, and it would wander to the left, and on and on and on... I was basically zig zagging in my lane the entire time all the way home. I'm guessing that I'm finally getting the tie rod roll that everyone has been warning me about?

hadnt subscribed to this on JF...

Looking good man. Let me know if you need a hand. A thought for Crozet is just to move the lower mounts either back to stock or to the back of the LCA brackets until you get to outboard. Shouldnt take long at all.

I don't weld, I've got a few friends that do though. Check us out at KMA http://www.kmaoffroad.org/index.php? We're a local group of Jeep owners that love to wheel!

I think I'm going to end up taking the Rubi to Crozet again. My steering is acting crazy again. I'll prolly end up getting the Currectlync steering, but that'll have to be after I get my tax return back. There's another Crozet run in April I think, Hopefully I'll be ready by that run.

That's weird, maybe because I upload the pics so large? I know that JF resizes them so I upload them large so that others can click to make them full size if they want to.
