Any recommendations/experiences with a steering box skid or a steering dampener (mine is dry)?

Finally pulled the trigger on a compressor. O'Reillys had a MV50 Superflow for $69.99.

Specs claim 2.54 cfm, and I will agree with how fast it inflated. Not installed yet, but it sits nicely under the brake booster.

After a much-needed cleaning. Need to wire the fogs and the OBA system now.

Steering box skid is in the mail!

WOW!!! And I was feeling pretty good about myself that I kind of welded up the exhaust manifold (while it's still bolted to said engine) this weekend. Now I don't wake up the neighbors when I leave for work in the morning. Oh, and I put more gas in the tank.

It looks like Stage 2 is now in progress. I am going to set a $1,500 limit on this stage, as it will likely include some re-gearing.

I bought a pair of IPF H4 headlight housings from 4WheelParts - $57.98

I also found a good deal on a D35 powertrax locker - $150

So that means I will be purchasing a pair of Superior D35 axles - $200

Additional Plans:

- D30 Rockcrusher diff cover (~$100)
- Fabricating rocker protection (~$100)
- Custom transmission skid (~$150)

Wow! Great job on the budget build! I would definitely try to get a set of ZJ disc brakes on the back. If you can't find anything locally, I can probably grab a set from a ZJ at the yard and send it to you for the cost of the parts + shipping (and the shafts, if you want)

Decided to paint the wheels that came with the TJ. Rustoleum Charcoal Metallic.

I might use the wheels as an extra set (maybe some M/T skins). Pics to come of them mounted....

Good job on tackling this build from a totally different perspective. I'll follow along.
