Like the progress on the 8.8, I just welded the tubes to the pumpkin on mine. It has been pretty stout so far. I'm interested to see the final product though with your truss, looks good.

Thanks. I'm going to mock up everything, tack the perches + shock mounts in place, and have a friend's buddy weld it up. Also going to have him weld the tubes to the pumpkin. This axle should hold up very well.

Sounds good, are you planning on installing a locker? Didn't see anything in your thread about one. I also did the superior super 88 kit and would highly recommend it, but if your on a budget maybe not. A Buddy just put an Aussie locker in his and it performs flawless, I'm running a eaton e locker but wouldn't recommend it considering problems that others have had.

I've got a limited slip in the axle, so I'm going to run that for now. And with my little 4-popper the Super 8.8 kit is also on hold.

Should have the axle back from welding tomorrow. Lots of random setbacks. Hope to have everything bolted back in this week and finishing the brakes. I'll have to see if the driveshaft still fits with the bigger 8.8. If all goes well' it'll be driving this weekend.

Finally got the axle back. Worth the wait, since the fab work is top notch.

When I got the axles from the junk yard, the tubes were bent 1/8" and 1/4", and after welding they moved even more. The welder had to cut the ends off and relocate them with an alignment fixture.

Shame on me...Letting the Heep sit for so long. I'm finally working some more on it.

The axle is in place, brakes are on. Axle U-bolts torqued to the leaves. Working on getting the brake lines in and mounting up the shocks. Ended up buying new BDS 3.5" springs for the rear and a set of 5/8" lift boom shackles to clear the military wrap. E-brake cables purchased and in hand, special made YJ to 8.8 cables, bolt on.

Hoping to have it done very soon. It'll soon be my DD again so it has to be done.

Its been a while ... life has a bad tendency of getting in the way of projects.

Welded the exhaust together yesterday. She's driveable again. I still need to get a tail pipe bent up, rear driveshaft balanced, fluids changed, tailgate installed, look at the front brakes (pulls hard to the left), etc, etc...
