I wish you double the money to make your build twice as good as mine ! :tea:

You can say that I took out a personal loan to buy a Brand New Stock JK. Then I decided to buy and modify a TJ for the same amount !

Some updates coming soon ... I just need to upload the pictures when I get back home. :D

Well by the time you're done you'll be glad you went the way you're going! :cheers2:

I'm sure I will! poor JK owners; they don't know what they are missing ! :teehee:

I was planning to do some photo shoot but a sandstorm covered the city for few days now..

I installed an sPOD switch system. The stock rockers were replaced by ones from OTRATTW
http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...t/IMG_0861.jpg
I opted to go with red instead of blue for the ARB lockers switches. I did this in hopes that I don't mistakenly activate them.

Here is another picture to show the other switches
http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...t/IMG_0855.jpg

I'm planning to add six other switches in the dash to accommodate other accessories. I was planning to use OTRATTW's center switch console, but they stopped manufacturing them... :(

Does anybody know any similiar solution?

Whatever my new solution will be, I'm planning to use their new switches!

Here is how the car looks now:

Here are some pictures from the front
http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...t/IMG_0875.jpg

http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...t/IMG_0872.jpg
The front tube bumper was replaced with a Warn Bumper few days after I bought it. I recently added four round LED lights from AOR on the front. two spreads and two floods.

you can hardly tell that the front axle is not a stock one...
http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...t/IMG_0876.jpg
not very good for showing off !

I also installed Bestop Rear Tire carrier in anticipation for the 35" tires.
http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...t/IMG_0883.jpg
unfortunately, I couldn't find a spare 33" tire to temporary use until I get my 35" installed.... :o

here is another picture for the rear
http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...t/IMG_0878.jpg
note the off road flag and the rear LED light. I basically use the rear lights during camping trips and BBQ nights ! :cheers2:

Rust Bucket came with Rear LED lights from the previous owner.

I still can't find the specific brand for them. But I'm planning to replace them with Savvy LED lights anyway ! :D

I like that car wash, I wish I had one like that somewhere close to me. It looks like it would be really easy to clean the undercarriage.

Yes, it makes things much easier. I usually take my Jeep there ones a month or so. I also take the opportunity to check under the car for any leaks or issues. :D

Thanks ! :)

Jeeps are not as popular as other 4x4s in this region. Most people will go with FJs or Nissan Patrols.

That is why you might be able to find a cheaper used Jeep around here. Having said that, this Jeep was cheap even with our standards. If it was in a good condition, it would of cost something like $5500.

I didn't want any (or most of) the broken stuff so I was more than happy to buy it ! :D

nice!

So, where we go from here ?

Here is what I'm currently working on:

1- Body and Armor

The AEV Kit will be delivered on 15th of March 2012. I just can't wait to get my hands on it
http://www.quadratec.com/community/j...y_Moab0022.jpg

I still haven't decided on what color I should pain RB... :o

I'm thinking about painting it with a mix of "matte titanium glossy gray" for the body and argent for the hardtop, and fenders..
http://www.thetorquereport.com/asset...x389-13095.jpg

I'm also thinking about using flat green instead. Or go with a non Matte flashy colors (like red, orange, yellow ...etc)

Too many options, I can't decide yet .. :(
I'm really open to suggestions.. I'm looking for something unique but without overdoing it.

I'm also planning to get Mopar Rock Crawler Bumpers for the front and back. I guess that this is a standard for any Highline build..

http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...imagemagic.jpg

http://www.4wd.com/aux_incl/images.a...rtNo=JEP&w=450
I'm sure that I want to change the front bumper. But I'm not very sure that I want to replace the rear one. I guess that I will judge that after fitting the spare tire on my Jeep.

I decided to go with an AEV Tummy tucker as well. I already have SYE and driveshaft. So this should be easy. :)

I'm replacing my rear lights with Savvy LED ones and I'm planning to do few other things from here and there. We will see as things starts moving.

2- The drivetrain and Upgrade

I'm not looking for extreme power and I do believe that reliability comes first. Therefore, I decided to go the stroker route. An order for a Golen 4.6 stroker engine has already been placed.

After reading this topic, I decided to rebuild the nv3550 transmission and I'm ordering a rebuild kit very soon.

Regarding the transfercase, My current one works just fine. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to keep it or replace it with Atlas 4 instead.
If I'm ever going with the Atlas Plan, then I'm buying the (1:1, 2.0:1, 2.7:1, and 5.4:1) gear ratio version.. :)

3- The Suspension Upgrade

I'm at loss here. I didn't image that NOT lifting the Jeep can be tricky as there are lots of clearance issues.

I know that I want Savvy/Currie JJ Aluminum arms and Steering components. But I haven't decided yet on the sway bar and shocks. I might delay this until I'm finished with the body and engine..

oalali 03-13-2012 04:04 AM

I received this yesterday...
