re integrated hitch reveivers:
MOST bumper manufacturers do not give you a official tow rating for their bumpers/receivers because of liability issues in the US.

There are some few "expensive" exceptions though

Hey Chmo ! Did you scare our guests ? :D

Any pictures ?

I don't think Mel got scared ... he was passenger with chief ... so long climbs with sharp crests ... small and tight ditches and ruts ... etc etc
at least we tried to keep up a fast pace ... but the convoy in the back was not keeping up  (he said "good times" though )

no super side slopes with side cresting at the end ... no long drives hooked to the crest in high altitudes :(

pictures ... pm abdoosh to finally post them ON THE PORTAL!

I'm sure he is going to post it .. eventually !

Thanks,

I was hoping to post more updates yesterday but the whole project brought to a halt because of some missing bolts and nuts. less than $5s later and they started working again..

The warn bumper also doesn't have the holes for the chains.

worker: We don't have the nuts and bolts ! We can't work without them ! :(

oalali: ... Then why didn't you call me to bring the *** bolts ?

Here is yesterday's progress

We have finally started assembling the Jeep.

The roll bar was also installed.

It looks nice, so I might not be covering it up! I'm also looking for a roll bar upgrade.

Couple of things will be installed today, the exhaust will be rerouted, and the truck will be sent for final assembly.

So, here is today's update with some good news ! and few bad news ! :(

Here is where the truck is currently at:

The fenders are not fully installed yet, but this should give you a clear idea of how the final product will look like.

I also decided to upgrade my clutch to Center Force Dual Friction.
http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...t/K98A1361.jpg
Some people like it, many hates it. Let us see what happens after the installation.

Here is where the bad news starts.

First, I got my new 35" tires mounted on the wheels.
http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...t/K98A1378.jpg

The problem ? I forgot to tell the installers to install the black letters on the outside.
http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...t/K98A1379.jpg
I'm now debating between keeping it as is or lose some money and send it back to be flipped.

The second problem is this
http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...388_marked.jpg

What you see is the AEV Nth Tummy Tucker. What are those blue dots? those where the bolts mount on the frame. You can see that those does not align. I tried it on another Jeep and it seems to be the same issue. :(

The box have a "new" part number (nth24070AA) and the production date is very recent (1/12/2012). Could this be a manufacturer defect?

Updates,

After a quick chat with Greg from AEV, it seems that this is:

"Just one of the variations the Jeeps enjoy to make our lives more interesting..."
Greg Henderson,

Solution? Use a High lift Jack to spread the chassis just enough to fit the bolts. Easy solution, Thanks Greg ! :2thumbsup:

Necromancer_tat 04-25-2012 02:57 PM

by blue dots you mean yellow dots right?
