Huge thanks to Carolina Truggies! I stopped by today and had Alex shorten my airbumps from 4" to 2". With my uptravel, I needed a slightly shorter stroke than what I originally ordered. Alex was so fast that it was hard to get very many pictures, but here are a few of the process:
Starting to take the Profender airbumps apart:
Everything was really tight:
Good shot of the guts:
Shot to show the new longer DOM spacer:
Difference between the 4" and the 2":
Done and done, new Profender 2" airbumps:
I can't wait to get these on! Alex only took an hour to do the change..... it would have gone much faster if I didn't talk his ears off . He sponsors an Ultra4 racer and will be building a race rig himself, so any info I could sponge off of him will be a huge help. I'm hoping to trailer my rig down there and just have him circle the wagon showing me how I can tighten everything up for a much faster jeep.
Wussy, I gave you the link on pirate4x4 so you can do it yourself. I de-stroked mine a couple of years ago and it is easy to do.
Just teasing ya, you know I am burning in jealousy of the super sweet sponsorship with blingy suspension. I look forward to you success and more importantly your videos. I need some web-wheeling action since I am suck in Canada right now with no jeep!
I saw several stages of the build in person and we have been to several events to thrash on the rigs at the same time. It is certainly the sickest JK I have been around and now I think he wants to start going fast with it .
As a matter of fact, if he dropped a locker, we would race in the same class in ECORS.... I told him I wouldn't stand for that because he would then have the prettiest rig on the track.
