No, you have to match 3 of 4 requirements in Class B:
  • 40" or smaller tires
  • 2 Tuneable vehicle supporting shocks (coilovers, airshocks)
  • 1 Locker
  • Stock Engine

So any "locker" would bump me out, I would just have to pull the air line on either the front or rear ARB. The wife thinks 2 coilovers and 2 lockers are better than 4 coilovers and 1 locker. I have been told by people much smarter than me that a well tuned resi shock and spring can perform like a coilover anyway.

I highly doubt the rules specify "air locker"... just 1 locker.

*edit: Jay beat me to it

Your wife is smart. Do it that way.

sounds like the way to go. I say option 1: rear Resi's and front air bumps

You said last race your rear shocks faded so you should definitely address that which will likely help with bottoming out the rear suspension as the same time. I think a rear anti-rock would be sweet but I can't see it making as noticeable of a difference vs. the stock rear sway as shocks or air bumps will make in performance IMO.

Obviously rear anit-rock, shocks, and air bumps all around would be ideal

I don't have a rear sway bar at all. My axle is moved back nearly 7" and I didn't want to have the mounts redone, so no rear sway bars currently. And yes, I had massive shock fade last time out. The shock that broke off was too hot to even touch, so shocks are all but a must do. I really need to get a camera mounted to show the compression.

That's where I'll end up, but I can only do two options right now. The rest will come as the build drags on.

The nice part of those mods is pretty much all of them will transfer over to bigger axles, so there won't be much to redo.

What kind of resi's you got in mind. I've been thinking of front coilovers or struts but just can't decide

I've been hunting for deals, but the wife wants Fox to match the coilovers up front. So if I keep her happy, I can mod without being given a hard time. So I'm cruising around the FS sections looking for some Fox 12" or 14".

Yes- first they will have to be adjusted, then I may put a gusset on there so I don't have the same problem as last time (although it was a bad weld, not the design):

Ahh yes, I completely forgot about that little detail. Well then maybe resi shocks and an anti-rock would be better. How hard were you bottoming out on the bumps in the last race?

I don't trust that design. I welded my front shocks hoops directly to my frame with good welds. I ripped two large holes out of my frame. The welds held, but the base material failed (aka frame). Think about heat effected zones. I know we are comparing apples to oranges, but I am willing to bet that you will now be flogging your rig more than me. I wouldn't run another shock mount without a gusset. I now have 1/4" fishplates and two gussets per hoop.

If you need a spotter let me know and I'll head that way in the car! Can't do the jeep because I am taking it home to Bama for the holiday weekend and the hitting uwharrie in it the following weekend and the ole petrol bill would jut get way outta hand with 3 consecutive weekends of jeep trips!
