Beats the black/ polished rim look. Not that there's anything wrong with that. what about gunmetal?

Man this project is going sloooooooooowwwwww, it doesn't help that it is blazing hot out either.

Made some more progress yesterday:
  • Driver's side corner has been sanded and smoothed and is ready for paint.
  • Driver's side tub has been drilled for the slider
  • Slider has been cut down to fit behind TNT tube fenders
  • Slider was test mounted for alignment
  • I Sanded out the scratches and now the slider is ready to be primed and painted.

To do today-
  • Cut passenger side slider down
  • Drill tub holes for slider
  • Sand slider smooth for paint
  • Prep passenger side corner for paint

To make things more difficult, unlike all of my other armor, there are 4 bolt holes you can't get to inside the jeep to mount the nut (due to boxed in areas of the tub). I'm not sure if I'm going to dremmel out some larger holes or possibly find some 3 to 4" flat head stainless bolts. Bleh.

If I can get all of that done, the goal will be to paint the sliders in my garage this afternoon and get the corners off to Maaco this evening.

Couple shots of the progress:

Cut slider:

Bolted up for test fit:

Lined up perfectly in the rear:

Didn't even think of that, it may be too late now. I drilled the holes, then re-mounted the slider and saw that some of the holes were ~1/16" to 1/8" off, so I widened them a little.

Or, my old Rokmen corners used long hardware in those locations with 2"x2" 3/16 plates. That would be better than cutting a hole inside to access a nut.

Still worth a shot. I don't remeber what size hole they take but it's not small. Something around 5/8" I think.
