I was really hoping I could get out Thursday morning early enough to see the start of the race, but I can't miss class. Looks like I'll be out there Thursday afternoon though. Good luck in the race, looks like you're much more prepared this year. It'll be fun to follow.

We're running a little behind today, bad luck with our radios.... I have UHF radios and VHF antennas, didn't even know that could be a problem.

Heading out to the desert now to pre-run the course

Pre-running the course went well, Pre-running the Qualifying course was a different story. We did a good bit of the rock course (Lap 2) with no issues, but I nearly yard sale'd twice on the Qualifying course- can you image all of the Dolce & Gabanna scattered over the rocks? :grinpimp:.

The good news is we drove out of what would have been a trip ending roll, the bad news is I rainbowed my tie rod into the Spider 9, destroying the steering stabilizer with it. The worse news is apparently I am the only one in Hammertown not running hydro-assist or full hydro, so no one has a stabilizer .

We got the tie-rod pressed back to close to straight and have been running with no stabilizer, so in the end not the worse break that could have happened by any means. We'll see how Qualifying goes tomorrow....

Pit crew working on the steering:

Tie-rod got pushed all of the way into the axle:

PSC surely has a booth there. Perfect excuse to fit up some over night hydro assist!

I know that it's last minute but can you weld a piece if angle iron across the front of the drag link to help strengthen it (so it's not easier to bend the second time)?

Ruffstuff doesn't have any 1.5x.250 wall Dom there? I woulda thought they'd have some and you can make a new tie rod. Idk how id feel about running one that's already been bent.
