Had a great time at The Farm..... until I bounced off of a boulder into a tree. Windshield frame is toast. We got a couple of good shots, I'll try to get them uploaded tonight or tomorrow.

Here is one of me exiting "Get Skinny":

Also, the ECORS Auburn race was this weekend and I have seen 3 or 4 pictures of the race. Looks like the sloppiest, messiest race in years. Only 3 guys showed up for B class and only one guy in the Ulimited class. Two Dirt Riot races and two ECORS races so far this year and it has rained during 3 of the 4 and rained the day before the 4th one. Worst racing weather I have ever seen, crazy bad luck.

This is one course from Auburn:

He still hasn't raced on it since but I assume it's just fine with the ball joints replaced and new axle shaft. He was rec wheeling this weekend at The Farm in NC, race was in Auburn, AL.

Looking at that picture of you climbing Jay, a center strap or a suck down winch for the front would be of great benefit to you. The front unloads pretty badly

You are correct.

I have done the research on Stu's suck down and about 3 different other options, but when I started the high speed stuff about 2 years ago I opted out of it. I'm hoping more tuning will help.

Center straps work great for slow crawling but I don't think you should center strap a racer, the axle needs to drop out in the whoops or when you get airborne

I'm looking at using the main winch as a suck down for the really steep stuff. Need to see how my front suspension wants to react first to see if I really need it or not.

they only have automatic pressure brakes coming from the hitch, they worked nicely with the 6x12 i pulled over christmas but idk about with 5000+ lbs

but for anyone wondering about 1/4 tons, i went on dakota-durango forum and a bunch of guys over there talked about power is nowhere near the problem, just the stopping so as long as the e brakes are good it'll tow that kind of weight no problem

I pulled the LJ out here on one of the U-Haul Auto Transporter trailers. I was really impressed with the automatic pressure brakes and never felt like I was being pushed around. However, being behind a 14' U-Haul completely packed probably helped a bit.

Savvy inspired LJ

06 Silver LJ
Savvy 4" lift with aluminum CA -- Currie AntiRock (Front) -- Currie F/R Trackbars -- Savvy Modular Under Armor
BF Goodrich T/A KO 285/75/16 on 16" Moab powdercoated black -- Vanco 16" big brake kit
JeeperMan swing-away tire carrier with tub extensions (JSPUex)
Four X Doctor Rocker Guards
Hella E-Code Housings -- ARB H4 Headlight Harness (M002) -- KC 130 watt SlimLite mounted on windshield

Well, today will be interesting. I live on Mountain Island Lake and because of that huge storm that went through this past weekend the dams north of us (Lake Norman) just overflowed. The last 3 hours have been crazy- helicopters are all over my neighborhood, red cross setup up disaster relief about 2 miles away, voluntary evacuations taking place up river.

Our house is on a hill and should be fine, but I just drove around the neighborhood and water is getting pretty close to some houses. A lot of backyards are now lakes.... Weird to see.

agreed, when i went for the relief effort for hurricane sandy it too was weird seing all the water in places it shouldnt be.

It was funny to my buddies and me, however not so to the people who heard me talking but i made a comment that some areas looked worse than in afghanistan.

Couple more shots from The Farm rock crawl, including my super smart decision to hit a tree with the windshield .

GenRight to the rescue! I went with their TJ windshield frame armor.

Primed, painted, clear coated, wet sanded:

Damage covered!

Color match came out pretty good.
