Still my favorite Jeep on the forum! I used your idea today using the Tough Stuff on my soft top, works awesome!
Thanks!
Well, after the trip I couldn't stand not having matching seats, so I pulled the trigger on another MC Baja RS, bracket, and 5 point harness. The harness wasn't too bad at all as far as getting in and out, so I think they will be good for daily driving as well.
Hopefully they will arrive before the weekend so I can goof around on it while the wife is out of town.
Here's another cool shot from the weekend. This was on Bees Nest:
All of the photos were taken with a Canon G10 (14.7meg) camera (except for the Bees Nest photo ^- a friend it).
I've used a set of harnesses like those in this
for at least 15 years now. Although its not a daily driver any longer it used to be. I just always use the lap belt and leave the shoulder straps slung into the back...
Did you make it up that obstacle or were you just posin? Great jeep, love the seats. Would that harness bar do something in the event of a rollover on the highway or high speed crash? Would it affect how the roll cage works? I dont want my son in the back with a bar right there at his face.

I can promise you that I try to climb over every obstacle I put my tires on. Look at my rear tires in that picture, see how wrinkled they are? That is me launching up Bees Nest and bouncing in place. I got to the top and started to slide off (near roll over) and had to slam it into reverse and back down before getting too sideways and flopping.
Up until I tried, I was the only non-buggy, truggy, or juggy to attempt it. I only saw one rig make it over the whole day. In the trip report section on our local board, it looks like several made it over the weekend, but no non-"buggies" that I saw.
It's not an impossible obstacle, but you have to fully commit. There is no crawling over it.
Are those buggies running bigger tire and more hp or what? What makes them so superior to ur jeep or tjs in general that are built.
I don't think it is that simple. My willingness to not roll my jeep doesn't mean it is less superior of a trail rig, it just means I don't want to roll it over just yet. There is no doubt in my mind that I can get over Bees Nest, but the margin of error is so small on a shorter wheelbase rig, on Saturday, the reward just did not out weigh the risk. So I tried like 7 times and called it.
In the Spring, when The Farm re-opens to the public, I'm sure I will be back on it.
The new Mastercraft seat and harness were night and day from the stock setup, I don't know if I could ever go back. Felt like I was strapped into a fighter jet on each obstacle.
X2, I also don't feel like I get bounced around a lot. Your head moves, but not your whole body. The 3" straps are a good call. When you end up on your lid, it helps distribute the weight. The wider belts do rub your neck a bit more.

Awesome quality pictures! I even like the Bees Nest photo. The lighting was just weird enough to make the jeep pop.
My bro and I are going to Indy on Nov. 28th. You can be on the road right after Thanksgiving dinner and make it. You game?

Don't..... tempt... me!
Melody and I are still trying to plan a trip back to Colorado to hit some of the big boy trails we couldn't run before. Really, it would just be cool to see some of the old crew again! The hard part is choosing between that trip or another Moab trip. Speaking of which, you have got to come out during EJS! We could basically side step the zoo on the trails by hitting Area BFE, Pritchett, Behind the Rocks, etc.
When is your company flying you back to Charlotte?
You guys should come out in December for the toys for tots run at the badlands. It will be a good time. If you ever do head out this way, let me know, we'll show you around.
Rear Currie 4" coils - 190 shipped. (They've been sitting in the back of my Jeep for mock up but won't work out for me.)
Hornblasters Shocker S4 horn set with some extras $210 shipped. (It is not OBA, just an accessory for OBA)
"LCOG" isn't cheap and it certainly isn't easy. If you think so, you are doing it wrong. If you aren't willing to put in the effort, don't label your build "LCOG". You are just a cheap ******bag.
IndyORV- Dick and fart jokes, titties, throttle, flops, beer, tater balls, and good times.

Well, you know how to get ahold of me if you do!

You know I love Colorado and you also know you would have a great time. But Moab is just an awesome place if you have to travel a huge distance. The hard trails just aren't close enough to each other in CO. Either way, you would have a great time. If you come through Colorado, avoid my spotting in V-notch.

I would love to meet you out there. Only two things stop me from going to Moab more often. My wife and the law. My wife hates wheeling. I spend enough time away that she would like me to take her somewhere sunny and less bouncy. AND every time I go out to Moab, I end up with a "fix-it-ticket".

If I wanted to, I could be your neighbor. There are plenty of open positions at my company for a person of my skill set. I could fly out there if they would stop sending me to Canada. By the end of the year, I will be sitting at 70 days in Canada.
