looking good!! how long are the bodies on the bumps? id recomend keeping an eye on the bump pad. it may need some plating to keep it from deforming. just kinda depends how hard and often you hit em. any plans for trussing/gusseting/sleeving the front axle?

my dual sport build http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f22/project-bumptastic-947070/

Trying to get a good feel on 2012's race schedule. ECORS hasn't released theirs yet, but their first one should be in March (usually at The Flats).

Dirt Riot has several races next year, but none in the South East, since my goal is to run one of those, I'm thinking the Badlands race in August will be my best bet. Definitely doing more Rally Crosses too, that was crazy fun and was one of the cheapest events I did all year. Lastly would be the King of the Turtle race at the Dirty Turtle offroad park (Bedford, KY).

I'll post up as events get closer.

As far as mods, here is what I'm looking at:
  • Rear suspension (bleh, no clue right now).
  • Rear anti-rock
  • Amber/strobe light bar
  • New front cage (current Poison Spyder cage will be for sale)
  • Steel door skins
  • Steel roof panel
  • Electrical Cut off
  • Fuel Cut off
  • Pumper for helmet
  • Reinforcements for front stinger
  • Custom rear tire carrier/nerf bar (GenRight carrier will be for sale)
  • Firewall for fuel cell

Sounds like a pretty good list Jay. I vote aluminum door skins and roof panel though!

The Ultra4 guys are releasing the Trail Mod tech rules by this weekend, which should be a baby step towards passing Ultra4 tech. So when those come out, I'll lay out a better build order.

It works severely against me keeping the rig convenient for the street, mall, and grocery stores, but in the end, that is foundation of this build- daily driver/rock crawler/racer. It is just making the next round of safety and tech mods more expensive.

Love the jeep! Can you breakdown the process of re-painting your armor and how its done to make it look like new? I rattle canned my armor black and its starting to look crappy so wanted to get some pointers.

I'm trying to hit some of those other races also. If you have any questions on the TREC stuff at the Badlands let me know. I highly recommend racing it , its ALOT of fun.

Check this out

We were trying to make it to the Oklahoma race, but being that it is 20 hours away, I'm thinking Badlands will be more realistic (only 11 hours). By the way, I watched your dust bowl video- that was crazy.
