Well after banging up my driveshaft last weekend and seeing how close I was to losing an oil pan...I installed a Skid Row engine skid

Looks good. I think I can make one of those with the steel I have lying around. Only thing is, it's another thing to collect salt in the winter.

It is a pretty simple design...If you wanted to I could let you take some measurements of everything sometime so you could make your own if you wanted. And yea it'll be a salt trap oh well

Thank you, thank you *takes a bow*

I really wanted TnT corners...but this is more of a priority.

And if Zach reads this...Rustoleum silver or hammered silver is a VERY, VERY close match to Jeep's Bright Silver Metallic, unless your silver is more of that slate color.

Darn. I was hoping you could make it for the 12th. Sounds like it will be a heck of a group. Let me know if you got something else cookin for another ride......

I've just added a few little things here and there:
tailight guards
painted liscense plate holder
track bar braket CV style
removed rear swaybar
changed front sway bar links (custom design)

Right now I am in the process of looking/planning to build my own long arms with 4-link triangulated rear. Remove the rear track bar in the process. I plan to complete that project this winter break. I'll order (2) of everthing if you wanna come down and do your jeep at the same time

I drive the jeep too much on the road to have it ride like a tank, so long arms it is.

I am in! I want to move to long arms as soon as I can afford it. And this would be a fun, cost-friendly way to do so.

Guess I'll start saving for an interesting project then huh, Ethan?

Yeah it would be awesome! Only room for one jeep at a time though.....but we could make it work.
The cheapest johnny joints I can find are 33 bucks a piece, they are forged with the threaded male end on them.

The tubing threaded bungs are aroud $17 each depending on DOM or square tubing.

Then gotta pick up some sheet steel for making the brackets, tubing for the arms and 4-link truss.

I thought about how I wanna complete the arms. In the front I could leave the upper adjustable arms the same, leave the track bar, and just lengthen the lower arms in addition get some of my wheel base back. For the rear, I could leave the upper control arms and track bar on and just change out the lower control arms, or I could just go all the way and try the 4-link.

What's your opinion?

Go hard or go home Ethan, methinks the only option for the rear is a 4-link. But I am not sure where to go with the front...time to start researching. I'll be looking at a lot of other builds now for ideas and sending things your way for a final decision.

Finished my sport cage install today. Went very smoothly for the most part, until the very end. I couldn't get my windshield bolts to line up on the driver side...so I sorta forced the issue. But in the end it all worked out.

The install is very straight forward.

T-bar first. I just cut notches on in the padding as you'll see in the second picture.

Then comes the windshield channel bars, or whatever you wanna call them...Getting these to line up so you can get your hard upper surrounds on is just a matter of getting the clamp ALL THE WAY FORWARD up against the windshield frame. I used a rubber mallet and a towel. I held the towel so I wouldn't damage the paint and I just pounded it until I got it lined up (yes it scratched the paint as it moved )

Once you get the one side in place you put the windshield spreader bar in there, don't clamp it just yet though...Cause you need to put the other windshield channel in there.

Then you just clamp it all together (the spreader just goes as low as you want, I left a slight gap between it and the dash, about 1/4")

I like it, you don't lose any headroom and you can for sure tell a difference in the rigidity.

Any questions regarding the install or anything, feel free to ask.

I bought this instead of the TnT rear corners with 4.5" flare. That decision tore me up lol. Now that it is installed, I am extremely pleased with it.

The one thing you put on a Jeep that you hope you never use...figures its just as expensive as anything else too
