i didnt do any regearing in the rear. just put in a powertrax in the factory 8.25. i plan to regear over winter.

did you have to pull the diff to install your front, i forget what the ratio cut was for being able to pull the pin without removing the ring gear

Jeff and I both have 4.10s and we both had to pull ring gears.

yeah since you're on the small end, you might not have to. If that's the case, you won't need to pull the carrier out of the diff (although it makes it easier) - as long as you can get the rolling pin & cross shaft out. But pulling the ring gear off wasn't bad - the hardest part was getting my carrier out - we ended up using my winch and a ratchet strap to get my carrier out of the housing...

Oh, and if you're doing your own gears - I'd love to learn how, if you've had experience doing it before...

ive never done them. but i work with tight tolerances all the time at work and do such things but on a much larger scale. ive rebuilt a few manual trannys and transfer cases so i couldnt see it being much harder than any of that.

Really now...I may have to bribe you with some busch light to show me a couple of things....my tranny needs to be rebuilt and i'm in dire need of a regear....

well. lucky me! no diff needs pulled to install my aussie. if i grind the ring gear ever so slightly on the inside corner i can get my center pin out! whose coming to HRJA jeep fest on the 21st?

Looking good, Imma paint mine all Black, and the R a nice bright freakin PINK!
I just love the silver too much to paint her.
I'm thinking I might just go with the overlines. Even with 35's it looks like you could stuff alotta rubber under that fender LOL

I think all black with a pink R would look good. I like the idea.

I have mine bump stopped right now because my shocks suck, but with my current bumpstops I could fit and stuff a 37" tire...The overlines should look pretty trick on the apex.
