Looking good! Looks like you need to sharpen your drill bit. A good bit should be able to drill right through those little buggers. Use some some kind of oil when drilling anything and it won't dull your bits as fast.

Yea, my drilling oil consisted of spraying it with kroil...I don't have anything else.

And now that my bit is dulled, how do I sharpen it? lol mind you I don't have a ride to the store right now.

Use engine oil as cutting oil. I do all the time.

I just use my ginding stone on the bench grinder. Keep the same angle and sharpen just the cutting edge.

Well Ethan, I had my buddy Jesse come over with a sharp 5/16 and we used some old motor oil and voila...

And that is Jesse on the side there

Cool!

Now you're going to have to sell those rocker guards and buy some ones that interlock with the corner guards.

Looks good so far.... I had a very similar momentum killer on my install. I had to drill 2 of my Tailgate hinge bolts out... had to run to the Hardware store to go get a new sharp cobalt bit....One I got a nice sharp new bit, it chewed right thru the heads....

Yea I started out with some HB High Speed Steel ones...dulled real quick.

I had to drill out 6...after I got the right bit it was 10 minutes and the hinges were off.

Quick question, Wade, I took a look at the mounting hardware and it doesn't look like any of the bolts are any longer than the other ones. So which ones do I use for the tailgate??

I wonder if Gerald forgot a baggie of bolts... I had 8 that were about 1.5" long or so and then a baggie of the 32 or so of the main mounting ones that were 5/16 x 1".

Sounds like he might have.

I had:
1 bag of the plastic pushtabs for the inner wheel well
1 bag of nutserts and nuts
1 bag of the 1" long philips head mounting bolts.
2 corners
2 hinge spacers
2 braces for the top of the corner
4 stickers...

Guess I'm missing something...sucks they are at KOH and probably won't be able to get back to me.

Did you make sure all the 1" ones are actually 1"? The longer ones for the tailgate were the same type, stainless, Phillips, Pan head things, just longer....

I'd PM him... I think he gets some iPhone service out in JV...I think he shipped my bolts while he was in Asia a couple weeks ago, so I I'm guessing they might have some help in the shop.

Ok, I PMed Gerald...hopefully it works out.

I almost cried as I drilled the holes, then I noticed I don't have a 17/32 drillbit. Looks like I'm waiting around till the girlfriend gets home.
