well, fired her up for the first time in a month tonight and there is definitly a knock there now. the motor mounts are shot in it. any time i would let out the clutch at all, the fan would hit the radiator..so the parts list keeps adding up. im starting to look around for a cheap little xj to swap the entire suspension and axles over. then i could sell the axles out of that one and put the money towards gears in the new one. its just an idea ive been tossing around. i figure after all my current xj needs, i might come out ahead plus get one with an auto so its better on the trails for crawling. but who knows thats waaaay off. plus the new one would be getting caged too

how about keeping the solid roof over the driver and passenger seats then canvas the rest? i've always thought that would look cool.

haha thats the worst part of the roof..the only reason i was going to do the whole roof cut was to get rid of the caved in section on the pass side.

well since you have to chop the roof to get the squashed section out, see what it looks like with that part removed. you might think it looks like s**t, you might not.
