I got the tube door skins done. I started with tag board (as most of my projects do). Made a pattern, then transfered it to the old soft top. Then added extra to hem the edges, and make some snap tabs. I ended up with 17 snaps per door. But they are easy on easy off, and can roll up and put about anywhere.

Cell pics but you get the idea. I have a grand total of $20 in the doors. (I needed to buy some snaps, and one latch)

Today I was looking at the smittybilt molle tailgate pouches http://www.smittybilt.com/images/pro...imary/86_2.jpg and for $50 the price isn't bad. But of course they don't make one for the YJ. So I got to lookign around, and wouldn't you know it, I have everything I need laying around to make it. Stay tuned.

Did you make the metal knuckles, or did they come like that from somewhere? They remind me of the brass knuckles i used to see when i was a kid.

Those I actually bought. I was going to make some, but searched gussets on e-bay and found those. Can't make them for $5 so I ordered all they had. All the rest of the gussets I made from 3/16" plate.

Yes they are brass knuckles

Some updates. I built a MOLLE tailgate storage. It started with some extra sign board I had (corrigated plastic sheet) 1/4" thick. Cut a piece to fit the tailgate. then cut a piece of my old soft top (not much left) to go over the board. I had a bunch of nylon web and cut 6 strips the length of the board. This is my first sewing project for my jeep. Then sewed the strips on the soft top piece, every 2 inches, 1 inch apart. 84 stitches later (I hate sewing) I had it done. I then used spray adhesive to glue the top piece to the board. Then screwed the board to the tailgate. I used the board to prevent sagging from heavy things. I have 3 inches between the tailgate and the storage drawer and thought it was a good place for small stuff. Tire gauge, folding shovel, golves etc. I don't have any actual MOLLE pouches, but put some stuff on for the pics.

One thing I could not wrap my head around was still using a middle rear view mirror. My roll cage completely block the stock one. So after some searching I found a 41-57 willys mirror. Put it on, and it actually looks like it was planned.

Right now i'm finally working on my cross member/ skid. I have the axle truss and ladder bar done, and all the mounts. Pics will come later.

I got my cross member/ skid done and installed yesterday. No pics yet, I'm sick of crawling under the jeep. I will get them in the next few days. Today I was a little bored, and was looking at jeep foot pegs. I always have my foot resting somewhere other than where it should be. There are some nice ones out there, but for around $75 they can keep them. Once again I started looking around to see what I had. I have quite a bit of 1/2" thick sheet aluminum. I have been wanting to use it for something, and this was perfect. I made a template out of tag board, and went to work. Cut it out with a cut off wheel, ground with flap disc, a little sanding, and came up with this.

I put them on the jeep to check for fit, and they are really comfortable. I made them adjustable for different angles. The mount is drilled and tapped, and the adjuster/ stop is also drilled and tapped, but the end of it I dipped in some tool dip. The rubber tool dip won't scratch the paint.

I still have a big to do list for the jeep, But at some point I have to get going on my scrambler. And as summer rolls around I will be out wheeling this thing.
