Finally got around to installing the LED Pods i've had sitting around since last fall. Took the extra time and cleaned up all the wiring, using lots of shrink tubing and wire loomed everything.

Still need to test in the dark but i like the look over my $8 Harbor Freight lights!

They look great. Haven't tried them at night yet but...

My headlights used to look really bright and white against my driving lights. Now my headlights look really dim and yellow compared to the LEDs lol.

Updates i guess

Jeep did great at JeepWeek in August. JeepJam obstacle course was a blast - Danger Cart dominated. Crushed a portion of rusted rocker panel, and found out if I REALLY flex out the jeep and turn the front drivers tire rubs a bit on the inner fender. No biggie.

My idler pulley decided it wanted to fall apart last night just as I pulled into my driveway. I think it had MAYBE a mile left on it before it would have grenaded. Those missing balls were gone before I took the pulley off.

Good timing!

So now the jeep has a new pulley, and I installed a new belt at the same time since it's been a while and the old one was starting to show it's age.

30-spline 8.8 shaft vs 27-spline 8.25. MOAR BEEF!

More stuff done on the 8.8 - housing is fully cleaned:

Cut the ears off the ABS port flush with the housing

Started cutting the mounts off

Threw some paint on a few locations that don't need welding.

Also changed out the front pinion outer bearing and seal last night. Outer bearing was definitely shot. Noise from the front end is greatly diminished now, although still there, but not as worrisome. Also broken open the diff and changed the fluid. Gears look perfect still so i'm not as worried.

And I got this: Ruffstuff 3/8" 50ksi cover with 1/2" ring. SUPER BEEF

I should hope so. 3/8" bent and welded inside and out cover, 1/2" ring, all 50,000psi steel. Completely overkill (aka AWESOME)
