Well, I couldn't wait any longer... I just got off the phone with Novak.

I got the tranny to tcase adaptor, tranny mount, and motor mounts. Total after shipping was just under $750.

In other news, my wiring harness shipped yesterday. Should be here in a few days. He says he's got a security system already wired into it with a remote start, window sensors, blah blah blah... I told him if I were to use all of that stuff my Jeep would never stop *****ing at me.
The motor is out!! On my way to pick it up. I'm going to take it to the base auto hobby shop and install the new cam in it, then take the motor up to Newport News to BESRK's shop. He says this weekend is open, so hopefully we can make some mega progress on the swap.

Anyway, here's the massive-ness of the wiring harness. Shipping weight was 41 lbs.

Made some progress today. None of this is final, just test fitting. We (BESRK, his son, and I) got started around 10:30 this morning, and finished about 7:45, just a few hours ago.

Started with the transmission, got the bellhousing and transfercase adapter bolted up.

Out with the old...

Then started putting 2 and 2 together

Found out the hard way that the Dana 300 and an NP 205 aren't the same thing. Had to crack open the transmission to replace the tailshaft so it would adapt to the Dana 300.

Check out the gnarly reverse action from what ever moron owned this thing before me:

After a good 3 hours of working on the tranny, finally got it back in one piece. Started bolting stuff together again

One of the guys from the club was kind enough to get some action shots of me pretending to work

And here she is!! We got the mounts mocked up, but not welded in. Just ran a bolt through the frame on each side so it wouldn't fall when we moved the Jeep in and out of the shop. The tranny / tcase is suspended by a ratchet strap going to the roll bar.

Should hopefully get the motor mounts finished sometime this week, and a new (read: beefy) transfercase skid by Friday. Then I'll be putting it on a trailer and bringing it to my place so I can work on it as much as possible. Eddie says he is going to try to move the whole motor up a good 5 or 6 inches, as much as possible before the bell housing hits the firewall. Good thing I bought from Novak instead of AA, because the adapter plate had a built in clocking ring. Hopefully I'll have it in my possession and will be able to take **** tons of pics by this weekend.

Got a couple small things to knock out in the morning. After that, I'm gonna jump on the engine mounts and start the tranny mount/skid. I rolled up under it for a few minutes today to look things over and get some ideas...
