So what's the plans for the axles?
For now, just going with 1 piece shafts in the back, and going to stretch it a little bit. I might put a pinion brake on the transfercase as well. That's just to get it street worthy.

Long term, I'm thinking 9" front and rear. 60 knuckles and more than likely a 3 link up front, and for sure a trussed 4 link in the back.

My first step though is to get a few gauges hooked up so I can actually drive it without worrying about it overheating. After that the rear axle is getting moved and setup.

Andy good to hear it run.

9" axle assemblies would be a great choice. The 60 knuckles are going to cost ya, unless you do the work yourself. In my opinion the weekness of the Ford 9" front axle is the knuckles and outer axle assembly. Currie uses the Dana 30 knuckle on the ones they sell unless you upgrade to the 60 knuckles.

Here's something else to consider with the 9s. If you plan to ever get a selectable locker the only thing made right now is ARB. OX lockers are pretty good but they don't make them for the 9. That was the one thing that I didn't like about using 9s on mine. Dana 60s would give more locker options but be more bulk and weight. Not trying to talk you out of or into anything, just thought I'd share some thoughts with you.

Keep up the great work.

Thanks Jim, at this point it's all research and cost dependent. I'm really hoping to find a place locally that will build the 9s for me decently cheap. I'll take care of the internals so long as they do the welding

I've been doing a little research, and I can't remember if my valley cover has a PCV system inside it or not. For now, I'm going to install a catch can outside the motor to catch any oil it may spit out. If it's dry after a few hours of the motor running, I think I'll feel safe enough to cap it off.

If not, then I'll be doing a little more motor work:

Good news on the PCV system, I've already got the LS6 valley cover! I saved myself the trouble 3 years ago and didn't even realize it So now I just have to cap off the drivers side valve cover, and get rid of a few hoses. Should be perfect very shortly.

In other news, I got this in the mail today.

Bad news is that it doesn't fit. :/ I think I might try to MAKE it fight. See how it has flat edges on the inside, and on the firewall it's got the two bulges on it, I'm going to see if I can cut out some of the plastic to make these two fit each other.

Thanks Dave You've got quite a bit to be proud of yourself.

Gonna give Collins Bros a call in the morning, this is the harness that I already have, maybe I'll get lucky and they can get me a part number for the one I need.

Insured and Registered. Registration has been dead for 2 years, and they only charged me $40 for a 1 year renewal Insurance is only going to be an extra $40 per month on top of my Civic. Not bad!

I am waiting impatiently for some four-wheel smoke, unless the LS is not up to the task

Dave, I drove it down the street today. Probably not the greatest idea since I still don't have a water temp gauge or oil pressure gauge. But I was scared for my life with just front wheel drive around 30 MPH. It's a good thing I don't ever drive this thing. One of these days I'll grow a brave bone in me and smoke some tires.
