Anyways....My plan at the moment is to finish my resto project then start gathering parts....I have a desenctly build 360 i could sell with a few aftermarket parts that would offest the cost a little. (not much but still)

Honestly, here is my view...I was planing to rebuild a 401 for it. So by the time i got one and rebuilt it im sure i would have close to 3 grand in it.....Ive seen a few LS1 engines go in the 2000 range...oviously id need a few other things but it would be a much cooler outcome. Im not 100% sure on anything yet, but im deff going to keep a eye out for a recked camaro or gto or something....
I already need a new radiator and i had planned on running a electric fan when i do that.....Im already going to have full autometer gauges, i was already considering running a fuel cell (But i dont want to loose the back seat so i hadnt figured out what i was going todo there) IDK its pretty much worthless anyways.

Do you mind if i asked what you have into the engine and trans?

(I ran out of time to type, i have more questions that will come later)
Engine and Trans... I think about $3k total in parts. Check my build sheet on the first page for all of the stuff I've bought.

If you're going to start putting parts in it, like the radiator / fuel cell, I'd either just buy the 401 parts and put them in your closet until you're ready, or just save up for all of the parts at once. Because from past experiences, I know that building in stages doesn't work. It sounds nice, and looks good on paper, but never works. Do it all at once and be done with it.

Still going, yes. If by still going you mean hasn't moved from the storage lot in downtown San Diego for almost 2 years. I've spent the past month debating if I should save money to finish the Jeep, or save money for a down payment on a new daily driver. The sensible answer is the Jeep, but the answer I want is a new DD. Such tough decisions!!

I think I could live with $3k per each...
Add some lockers and that's pretty much all you need.

Dynatrac Products

Edit:

Ok, so I emailed them for a quote, and the total for front and rear Pro Rock 60s with 35 splines, and ARBs, would be $13.5k

Who wants to buy some axles for me?

Edit 2:

I've been doing a bit of web wheeling and these guys seem like the cheapest. $6360 for a pair of GM 60s with ARBs and some Warn hubs in the front.

Honestly I might just end up doing that. Junkyard axles are starting to sound more and more appealing to me.

Now when I click on the link to their site, it times out and I can't get a phone number or anything for them. Boo. Somebody get ahold of them and make sure they're not out of business for me!

I found a local shop in San Diego that builds all kinds of axles! Now I just have to figure out if I want 9" or 60s front and rear... Decisions decisions...

Andy, I didn't know they had 9" front diff's until reading Jim1611's build thread. I do like the option of having spare third members setup and ready to go. Either way I don't think you can go wrong.

I'll have to drill a hole about 3" to get the plugs through the firewall.

The top right bundle is the reverse lockout and the Vehicle Speed Sensor. I'm not using either but I told them to leave it in just incase I decide to use it later.

The top left bundle is the battery hookups. The wires without a loom next to that are what they added. That's the fuel pump, OBDII plug, a few random starter / alternator wires, and other stuff I still have to figure out.

The orange loom is the passenger side O2 sensor and starter wires.

The bundle coming down in the center from the main loom is the passenger side fuel rail hookups, and a few connectors on the back of the block. One is the MAP sensor, and another is the oil pressure gauge (). Gotta figure out where to put those.

The right side is the driver side fuel rail, and most of the engine accessories. Alternator, MAF, air temp, coolant temp, and the driver side O2 sensor at the bottom.

Talked to a few people and made a few phone calls, and found this shop close to home. If I end up giving up on the Jeep and taking it to a shop, I'm confident these guys can do a good job.

M.I.T. Drivetrain Specialists

Worst case scenario I'll buy this steel bellhousing to replace my crappy one. But for $475 it's a huge ripoff.

Is that the only bellhousing that will work?

Is it a standard small block chevy to the SM465 or special on the LS1 side?

It ought to be standard. The bell housing I have came with the 465, and bolted right up to the LS1. Dowel pins and everything.

Ordered a wiring harness for the fuel pump today. Pretty nice one, has a relay and fuse sealed in a nice setup. Also ordered some new EGR and AIR system block off plates / gaskets. Lucky for me, I don't actually have to remove anything from the motor. Just block off the ports on the headers! And when I had my computer flashed, these "tunes" were removed. So I souldn't be running lean or rich, or pump shotgun rounds out of my tailpipe.
