Project commando

image-2242105583.jpg

About 2 1/2 years ago I built a chevy 383 stroker motor I'n highschool. Then soon after it was built me and my dad picked up this 1967 jeepster commando. We had no clue what we were about to get into trying to put a v8 I'n this thing.
To catch everybody up here's where I'm at now.
383 stroker motor
Turbo 400 trans
Dana 20 Tcase
Full size axles Dana 44/60 front axle has been moved forward and the rear backwards. cj full with axle kit
37 inch tires
Ron Davis custom aluminum radiator.
Cut fenders and lengnthed inner fenders
PSC steering box
Reid knuckles: high steer
Corbreau seats
Custom 22 gallon gas tank
Custom tie rod
Front 14 inch travel shocks
Custom leaf springs
Recently had the frame powder coated
Herculined underneath of the tub

I'm sure I missed lots of stuff.
This was not an easy build for us now were at the point where things can finaly start going together for good like the engine/trans and body.
Here's how it looks now

On my old camaro I switched to an electric inline pump and ran it along the frame close to the tank and filter. When ur pushing more power, the electric will be more efficient and delivering adequate fuel. I got mine through jegs

All have to look and see how much the mechanical pump flows that I have. If I remember it's some kind of high flow. I just needa figure out how to plumb it correctly from tank to carb

Had to modify the air duct that goes under our cowling since we beat back the firewall to fit the engine.
