Quick question:

On this vid: YouTube - GOPR0014.mov

What kind of camera setup did you use and do you have any pics of it on the side of your Jeep?

I used the HD Go pro action camera. I had the suction cup mount on at that time and is what we usually use.

GoPro Official Store: Wearable Digital Cameras for Sports

On the intercom setup. its a system used in the airplane. Currently its hooked up to the passenger, ipod, cb and ham radio. I need to setup the PTT feature so i can transmit out of the head set to the radio.

I purchased the headsets and comm through ebay. its the avix 4000

Version 2.0 is coming up quick. first step is rebuilding the 8.8 Limited slip. I picked up a rebuild kit for the LS for a few bucks. I figured id give it a shot before dropping in a locker. I rearranged the clutch pack in the LS to be alot more aggressive.

tonight they are soaking for the "break in" period in 80w90 semi synthetic.

you can see 2 of the stock LS clutches in the pick on the lower center of the pic. notice the bright shiney metal... yea those are toast.

the rest of V2.0 is trussing gusseting, 8.8 install, 2.0 bilstien bumps, shock relocation.. and prolly a few more other things as i go.

got back to it today, installed the spider gears. (pain in the ***) i opted to put the carrier back in the diff housing and use the axle shafts to help hold it all together while using them to turn the spiders to get everything into place. took a frew tries with the different shims but its in there really tight. (thats what she said)

Once i had the spiders in place i put the big spider pin in place to make sure it all lined up. next was the S spring. its a ***** too. I ended up using hose clamps to compress the "S" and then a BFH to tap it into place.
I had to adjust the S spring a few times to get the axles shaft in without any contact between the two.
I then removed the carrier to install the ring gear. I used a cross patter to get it in with damaging anything.
so here it how it sits. I need to get ahold of a good torque wrench to torque it all down. (mine is busted) then i can put my backing plates and harware in and then i gotta finish prepping the housing for the welding.

Got the gears in, axle shafts in, brake brackets and everything torqued down. I left the tone ring off since i use my TC with a speedo gear. does anyone know if it will affect anything by leaving it off (the tone ring) ?????
