Project 31: A 2002 TJ Build
Well, I've always enjoyed build threads, and now that I've finally started upgrading my heep I figured I'd start my own. Hopefully you guys will enjoy it.
Anyway, my plan is to build the most badass, most capable Jeep on 31's thats possible. It's my DD, and with gas prices being as rediculously overpriced as they are in California, I really can't justify going bigger, especially since the Jeep has accomplished everything I've thrown at it with 30" H/T's. This is what I'm starting with: bone stock 2002 TJ Sport, 64k, 4.0, 5spd, D44 Posi rear. ![]() Only thing I've done up to this point is repainting the fender flares and painting the headlight bezels. ![]() Playing around a little, still stock... ![]() First big step...31's, made my front bumper into a shorty, removed the little side flares ![]() Close up of the 31's...Firestone Destination M/T's...they are amazing. ![]() Also got a pair of Riddler diff covers, and an OME steering stabilizer ![]() Took off the rear tire carrier and license plate bracket as well. ![]() Well, that's it for today. Tommorow I'll be painting my wheels black... Coming soon: Banks Monster Exhaust JKS tie rod Nth Tummy Tucker Homemade true CAI ![]()

Teaser pic...
![]() only got the front 2 wheels painted today, turned out to be a lot more work than I thought it would be. I think they turned out pretty well though...not as good as $100 powdercoating, but pretty well none the less.

Just curious since I'm going to be looking for tires soon, what did those run you at?
BTW, are you running a spare at all? |

They were $140 each at the local Firestone...payed a hair under 700 for 4 of them mounted and balanced.
Not running a fullsize spare at the moment...

Finally got the wheels done today...
![]() ![]() I think my next update will be the exhaust...but I think I'm gonna go with a Flowmaster Super 40 just cause it's so much cheaper.
